i dont run a hotel, or even an airbnb, but i have lots of friends and family come through. would love to have the screensaver on the EA-1 OSD in the guest rooms say "welcome xxxxxx" but can't find a way to customize this. ideally, i would use the web events driver and watch a google calendar notification and update the name on the OSD with the person "invited" to visit. 

anyone know a way to do this? it could be easy, but i can't seem to find it. or it could be impossible, and then might as well ask  

You can't do that.  The best you can do is an announcement.

I haven't done it in a long time but can you not set the status message at the bottom of the screen to do that? I have not tried it with any of the EA series controllers though.

You could use the screensaver agent and create your own image to display forever.  Changing the name on the image and updating each time someone new comes.  That is probably the easiest way.

the announcement agent should be easy to execute when they press the control 4 button to turn it on.
