South Africa C4 user
The announcement agent often cuts the first few seconds of the wave file... How long is your wav file? If less tha. 5 or 6 seconds that may well be the problem. There are two reasons for this (if I recall correctly): the time the amp takes to turn on (assuming yours is not set to always on) and a software bug. @PapaSmurf74 posted a fix (changing a setting somewhere) for the software bug in another thread. Gix656
Yep, if your sending the announcement that way. If you want to send it directly to Sonos via the network you have to do it in programming not the announcements agent.

Matt Lowe
A common requirement of the Sonos system is to provide announcements like a doorbell. This is now easy to achieve without any physical connection between the Control4 controller and the Sonos system. It also enables any Sonos supported audio format to be used as the announcement, not just wav files, and removes the 20 second limit. You should only use this announcement capability in rooms where the Sonos is the endpoint for the room; if you have CONNECTs plugged into a matrix then it is better to take the HC output into the matrix and use the C4 Announcement Agent without involving Sonos in those rooms. Select the Announcement File If you want to use a .wav file then use the standard Control4 announcement agent to add the audio file BUT DON’T ADD ANY ROOMS. To use an .mp3 or other Sonos supported audio format then copy the audio file to \\<master controller IP>\media\announcements. Using the Control 4 Announcement Agent If you want to use the other features of a Control4 announcement such as the display of images or messages you can set these up as normal. However do not select the Audio Announcement in the agent. In Custom Programming add in programming for the announcement to be played in the Sonos zones required. Do this by specifying the full name of the Announcement file and the required volume percentage in the Device Specific Command. Extra Vegetables Sonos Driver V8 Page 19 of 19 This method allows you to play different announcements in different rooms and at different volume levels if required. There is no limit to the length of the announcement that can be played. Once the announcement has played the Sonos zone will automatically return to what it was previously playing at the previous volume level. Using a Contact Closure Input If you aren’t using any of the other features of the Control4 announcement you can add the programming directly to the doorbell input instead. Just ensure you have copied your announcement audio file to the correct place in Composer. Hot Tip: This works well with Chowmain’s Advanced Announcement driver. This enables you to customize the announcement based on other events. Simply specify Advanced Announcement.wav as the announcement filename. I am having difficulty finding where you select the sonos endpoint to play the announcement. I am assuming in the programming section you select the trigger ie. when the call button is pressed play announcement "TEST" but where do you select the file to play since you selected no rooms in the announcement build.
