Will all Kwikset Locks with Zigbee work?

C4CA

Question

I was wondering if all the kwikset locks with the zigbee technology will work with control4 or do they have to be specifically the C4 models?  Example Control 4 deadbolt model is 99160-006 but Kwikset also makes a zigbee model 99160-009.

Thanks

It has to be purchased from a control4 dealer.  the zigbee module in the non-control4 deadbolts will not work, although a bit cheaper.  Its mentioned quite a few times in this forum and its true.

Unless you have a Zwave controller/hub added to the system, correct?

I have the Kwikset deadbolts that you can buy from Lowes... Was planning on adding a Vera or whatever to the system.  That should be fine, right?

you can add a zwave hub.. and control your locks through that. However for every additional system between control4 and your devices.. you are adding lag. personally I dont like to wait for things to happen.. if I tell my door to lock.. i expect it to happen basically immediately

You can add those with a Vera edge so the answer to your question is yes but the previous repercussions mentioned above could be in effect. The more powerful your controller, the less chance of lag but it could also depend on how good your network is as well.
