Crimping wires/extend IR

Featured Replies

Posted

My dealer did an initial install and used these to crimp IRs and a fireplace wire. It's kind of a metal clip. Is this something available at Home Depot or something? I want to do a couple more and could probably easily do it myself 72b7f749217c4124a27ae9ab07d00bec.jpg26f457fb01d5be74eb0a896f8987c08a.jpg

They even have ones that seal for outdoor crimping.

Yep, Dolphins (Actually a brand), butt, b-wire or even 'beans' - all names for the same thing and commonly available.

Not a big fan on how he crimped them though - looks like he used side cutters or something - but that's just a side note

Well those specifically would be for professional installers - it's the one I have - but it gets used numerous times a day - and has lasted for a decade with no wear (go Channellock!). 20-30 dollar pairs for the DIY guy are certainly available.
