burowyako
I just added a comment to a separate thread regarding the same projector, but I'm not sure if the user was after the same thing that I am. I'm a noobie to Composer so please forgive me for the simple questions and if this seems to be a duplicate post. I recently purchased an Epson 6040UB projector. I have the projector hardwired to my network and it's my understanding that I should be able to control the projector through Control4. I have the projector added to my project, all of the connections are made, but I can't seem to get it to respond when I press the Watch or Room Off buttons. I'm using an HDMI over Cat6 extender for the video signal so I don't plan on having to switch the input. I basically need the power commands to work and I'm in business. Any idea of how to troubleshoot this? Thank you for your help!
abovedeck
Distinguish if it's a control problem or a programming issue. Open up composer, click monitoring, find the projector in the device tree, double click it, when the window pops up, click power and see what happens. burowyako
That's a great little tool in Composer. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction! After looking into the issue, I had a bad RJ45 keystone. I played with the cable a bit and suddenly everything worked like a champ. I love issues like that. Thank you again for your help!
