cctech
We’re trying to finish up a big C4 project and everything has gone so well until we tried to integrate the cameras. For some stupid reason I decided to use UniView cameras on this project and got a driver from Janus Technology. The issue we’re having is we get no thumbnails on navigator but when you click on the broken link icon for the camera it pops up and looks great. Any guidance or advice would be super helpful. Thank you in advance.
lippavisual
The thumbnails are the snapshot image. So if the cameras are capable of snapshots, they would show up. Maybe they are not able to do that, I'm not sure as I have zero experience with Uniview.
mallom
You can try to use the generic camera drive and set each stream. Try this link for snapshot: http://camera-ip/images/snapshot.jpg Get the RTSP from here: https://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=UNIVIEW camera_dw_ip_generic_fixed_with_h264.c4i nikko444

Thank you in advance. http://blueirissoftware.com/technology/ Uniview RTSP seems to be supported by Blue Iris. I have the paid BI driver, I think there is a free one too. Can give your client the option (paid one has a lot more programming and complex features). If you just need to get the streams into the navigator - maybe try the free BI driver? cctech
I don’t know much about Blue Iris. Would I need to use their software in conjunction with the Blue Iris driver? C4 has a free Blue Iris driver.
Gary Leeds UK
C4 as a blue Iris Driver which is free - However you need Blue Iris running on a standalone PC all time - ABOUT $60 Mallom Generic IP driver works great if you have all the streams - You are looking for snapshot
cctech
It’s so odd. I am randomly getting a snapshot sometimes but most of the time there’s none and I’ve never had all snapshots. I don’t have a PC in his setup running all the time. At the moment I’m stuck and looking at the option of just switching all 16 cameras out with Hikvision. mallom
Have you tried C4's driver? Im sure you did, just checking to make sure... http://drivers.control4.com/solr/drivers/browse?&fq=manufacturer%3A"Uniview"&fq=controlMethod%3A"ip"&q=&fq=manufacturer:"Uniview"
cctech
I actually tried it today. I popped up as a certified driver but I’m still having issues with not being able to see preview thumbnails in navigator.

Have you tried lowering the snapshot resolution in the camera's settings?
cctech
It never works but if I touch the thumbnail I get video. I’ve tried changing resolution etc... but nothing works.
mallom
Send them an email and ask if they can provide you the URL for the snapshot. Then you can test it via VLC. What camera model you have? Are you on the latest firmware?
Francisco Gonzalez
Just adjust the snapshot resolution in the camera to 640 x 380.
antneed
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm about to go with Uniview cameras and was wondering if this issue has been resolved, or should I go with another brand of cameras? What brand do you guys recommend that works seamlessly with C4? thank you!
ILoveC4
I’m battling this same problem with Dahua cameras right now. Frustrating.

Unsocialtoaster
Might be worth tagging @andrewalloys on the off chance he has email notifcations turned on for this thread - that was his first and only post and was 2 years ago!
edmsamo
Following up on this old post... Did anyone manage to get the snapshot URL for the uniview cameras?
jamesc4
Same here is there a driver ? Would want streams on Touch Screens and IOS
Cyknight
? Standard driver works fine for me and we've done lots. One thing to note is is the size of the snapshot image file (can be set in camera - should be 200k) snapshot url is just [IP]/images/snapshot.jpg
