Dil Rai Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 I currently have two thermostat controls and also a control unit for my HRV. Is there an option that would let me control them with Control4. SHould I go with a Control4 thermostat or would a Nest or Ecobee better suit my needs?
Cyknight Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 NEst won't do HRV AFAIK, not sure on Ecobee - but we've done plenty of HRV using a simple relay control to trigger it plus appropriate programming.
dcovach Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Nest can do HRV but not properly. Connect it as a dehumidifier and set the level to the lowest, 30% I believe. You'll most likely never reach that level so the HRV will constantly run unless you set a schedule for the time range that it will NOT run. Its definitely better to have a relay to trigger it and maybe a second relay to trigger it in high if the HRV can run in that mode too.
Jfischer 75 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 the C4 therm also controls the HRV using the I1 and I2 terminals (They refer to it as Ventilation or Fresh air). this is also controlled then through C4 App....
