Posted September 23, 20186 yr I had a Control4 system installed when we built our home 3 1/2 years ago. It has been working perfectly with my Alexa devices and FireTV. I have three (3) Amazon Fire TV boxes and eight (8) Alexa devices. As of, about a month ago, my Alexa devices stopped working with my Control4 equipment and my Fire TV units did also. All of these unit seem to be online and working, except they no longer interface with my Control4 equipment, as per my CTRL4 tech, due to the updating of the Amazon IP software. Is this correct ? I am a novice with the technical knowledge of this, but my CTRL4 tech said Amazon has changed the Internet protocol and he is awaiting software updates from either Amazon or Control4 before he does an IR workaround ? Any help with this issue or no one else has it ?
September 23, 20186 yr Yes he is correct, you need an IRUSB or flirc for each firetv. What generation firetvs are they?
September 23, 20186 yr Author I have confirmed that most of my dots are 2nd gen and one of my echos was bought 11/9/2016. Do you think instead of a IR workaround, Control4 will be able to upgrade the app to continue with IP access ?
September 23, 20186 yr You Alexa devices should still work ~ have you login into your mycontrol4 account to check they show ? The amazon TV will not work via the ip driver anymore
