C4Newbie
So I installed a GE Concord 4 this past winter so that it would work seamlessly with my Concord4 and I am now getting an error message that hopefully someone on this board has experience with. It is;"bus failure unit am3 ". Anyone know what it means or how to fix / clear it?
RyanE
Bus failure unit am3 means that you're getting an error on the Automation Module. It's likely you may need to replace the automation module. You may want to power down the panel (remove the battery as well as AC power), check the keypad bus wiring to the module, and then power the system back up.I've heard they have a tendency to fail frequently. Not sure why that is.RyanE

RyanE
It all depends on how your installer wired it, so unfortunately, I'm not sure I can help with that.RyanE
akg4y
When they fail is it just a matter of getting a new one and plugging it in or is there some programming change involved on the security system or C4 side?
RyanE
No change on the Control4 side, but on the alarm panel side, you have to power the panel down and back up, and it should recognize it as a new bus device.I don't know any more than that, as I'm not a panel installer.RyanE
arctic@1m
Follow Ryans instructions.Power down panel, remove old AM from bus, add new AM to bus.Power up, Concord4 will ID new device. That's it...
R_Willis
My automation module kept giving a "ground fault alert" that I turned off in the reporting section.
