dinosaur
On the HC500 there are 3 terminals per contact, 12V+/SIG/GND.When is the 12V+ terminal used?I assume that a magnetic contact uses the SIG and GND terminals.
lippavisual
the 12V+ would be used when your product requires power.like a motion sensor.
RyanE
Actually, magnetic sensors use SIG and +12V, not GND.The input into the SIG needs to be a positive voltage, so you connect your relay outputs to SIG and +12V, and when the relay closes it's contacts (usually COM and NO), the SIG gets +12V, and senses the contact input.Door/Window contacts as well as motion sensors usually are wired that way, in addition to using the GND and +12V on motion sensors to power the sensor.RyanE
