ILoveC4
I’m curious - what has prompted the sell off?

Christian87n
What’s the difference between a regular switch and an essential switch in terms of capability? Are you able to do double and triple taps?
Elvis
Yes.
Pounce
Do what was the deciding factor on switching to Mr Lutron? Look and feel?

Homekit #1, ease of installation, flexibility, integration, compatibility, price, reliability -- all are unmatched in my opinion. Look and feel would be the least favorite thing about it, as far as my wife is concerned. Negatives are pigtails and iffy fan controller (which I hear they are fixing). What's wrong with the fan controller? I was about to buy one of those since I can't find a UL listed controller that can take Tasmota. Pig tails.. yea. I use Wago Lever-Nuts when I need to use stranded pig tails. Makes life easy. On the plus side stranded pig tails are easier to mash into a box for dimmers and surge outlets. About 5 years. One AppleTV reset several years ago when I was out of town is the only major problem that comes to mind.
msgreenf
It's just not nearly as capable and limited to apple devices. But If that works for you that is awesome!

Googling it resulted in others complaining about the same problem. The upside now is Support will probably tell you up front if the fan will work or not -- they no longer assume it works with all fans. Apple HomeKit is not nearly as capable as Google Android HomeKit? That's the only comparison, in my opinion, that matters. Does Google have a competitor to HomeKit? I honestly have no idea. If it's better, I'd love to try it as I'm a junkie for new things.

Can't see the brand, but it's probably cheap. Wago Lever-Nuts?! I've stopped the remaining installations until I get some of these. Incredible. Thanks for the tip! Everything isn't Google vs apple. But I do find the native Google Control4 integration to be awesome. And so fast it's scary.

Google integration doesn't even show up on my customer portal -- thought it only had Alexa. Odd.
msgreenf
Google voice control is awesome! What is version are you on? It works flawlessly and like 1000x faster than Alexa
Elvis
Ari just updated to the latest C4 OS. 3.1 something I think. Or do you mean Google device OS? Don't have a dedicated google device anymore, and it was not setup with the same email address as my C4 customer account. So C4 probably isn't seeing that account.
