Sunny
I need some assistance programming multi-zone playing the music from Media Server. I have a QNAP in the project and i have scanned the music in media. How do i program the keypad that will activate 3 zone playing the music from media? I tried Room Control it doesn't give me the option for the Preset to select the playlist or the album. I tried to programming but it only activates one zone. However if you see the session on Control4 app show all the 3 zone are active but they are individually active and not in one session. This is how i programed In events i have selected the Keypad In Actions Select Room --> Command --> Select Media --> Playist. (Did for all 3 zones). So basically three different program lines. Tried same things with Marcos and activate marcos but still doing the same thing.
South Africa C4 user
There are a number of ways to do it, including the following options: 1. Play the music in one zone and then activate a Media Scene (first set it up via Media Agent); or, 2. Play the music in one zone and then use the free Room Control driver to join other rooms to this session (preferable to option 1); or, 3. As for 2 above, but use the Domosapiens Keypad Audio Control driver which adds a lot of functionality to the C4 Room Control driver.
livitup
Option 4: Start the music in one room and use the "Digital Audio" driver (which is automatically installed in every project) to "Join" the other rooms into the session. In programming, after you have started the music, look on the right side for "Digital Audio" and in the commands section you will be able to add additional zones to the existing "session" active in the first room. This is the least intuitive way to do it, but IMHO also the "cleanest" from a Control4 programming perspective.

So I guess you would do something like (this is for room Kitchen) When the audio selection changes Add rooms 'Dining' to Kitchen session Is that right? Will this also shut off all joined zones when the original room is switched off? In the above example, when the Kitchen is turned off will it turn off Dining? I don’t think so... not without additional programming. option 1 (Media Scenes) would do what you want though as long as you set the Media Scene up correctly. zaphod
So then you would need to add a When the room turns off Remove Rooms 'Dining' from Kitchen session South Africa C4 user
