sherly
I have a control4 system in my house and am wondering what is the best record player on the market to integrate with the system.

Cyknight
There's nothing that is 'controlled' out there that I know of - any will work as a select-able device. Just be aware that if it outputs phono (which also uses rca) you'll need an external adapter (depending on your 'audiophile' level, you should be able to find one under $100 if not under $

Turntable (aka phono) outputs are at a lower level and need to be amplified to reach the level of regular RCA audio inputs. Older amplifiers often had built in pre-amps. Audiophiles used to prefer separate pre-amps and would spend hundreds or thousands on a pre-amp alone. And apparently some turntables these days have built in pre-amps. So it depends how the turntable is being connected to C4 and what one means by "connected to C4". If all of your C4 stuff is in a rack then do you want to be running down to your rack to flip over or change the LP every 20 minutes? To be honest, the easiest way to use your turntable content in C4 would be to spend the time "ripping" your LPs to audio files. But it depends why you are using the turntable in the first place. Are you using it because you have LPs of content that is not available digitally? Or are you using it because you are an audiophile and prefer the higher quality sound of vinyl, despite the inconvenience? I suspect it is the former. If you just need a basic preamp here is one on Amazon for $25 that gets a decent review:https://www.amazon.com/Pyle-Phono-Turntable-Preamp-Preamplifier/dp/B00025742A/

In essence, yes - except that it doesn't have to cost hundreds... 14 hours ago, zaphod said: And apparently some turntables these days have built in pre-amps. Yup, I was primarily pointing out that just because it has 'RCA' outputs - even if without a gorund connection, that doesn't mean it's 'common' line level.
