zaphod
I am trying out Tidal. When I get search results for some artists there are duplicate entries for some albums in the C4 iOS app. There is nothing to differentiate these albums but if you do the same search on the Windows 10 app you may see some albums listed as "MASTER" and you see fewer duplicates. Notice that the albums Brighter Days and Lickety Split show up twice in the C4 UI but not in teh Windows app Here is an example when listing albums for Robert Randolph & The Family Band on both the Android app (in Bluestacks) and the Win App. Is this a "bug" in the C4 app.
PorterTX
@zaphod I recreated your search using C4 IOS with the most recent update from this week as well as right before and I got something close to yours but slightly different. My IOS search displays the "M" for Masters. It looks like one version is a non-master and then another is the master which is almost what I would have expected for all but not the case. I don't know if I have seen this type of duplication with other searches but I will keep an eye out. I felt like with OS2 you could rotate the orientation of your phone to see more text displayed but OS3 seems to be locked which would help. zaphod
I emailed C4 about this issue a few days ago. But I still don't see the [M] beside the album name. Here is a screenshot I just tried now. This is from iOS and it appears to be the latest C4 app as I don't see any updates available. This also does not show the time for the album either, but the Android app that I have running in bluestacks does show the time.
PorterTX
@zaphod That is strange. I think you said you are trying out Tidal so did you have a chance to make sure in Composer under the Tidal properties you set the Enable MQA to "On" as well as set limit quality to "no limit"? zaphod
Got the same as you now. MQA was not enabled. Now it is enabled and I see the same as you. It would be nice to see more of an explanation of what the difference is between mutiple albums or if you would only see the Master. It looks like the Windows app does hide the duplicates but the C4 UI does not - this is noticeable when comparing the Windows screenshot from above to others. PorterTX
Ok good! One problem down right? ha! I agree on the duplicates as now that I am paying attention I have seen a couple of others. Hopefully that can be fixed in a future update.
