loch
I contacted a local C4 dealer today to inquire about getting set up with Composer Home Edition. I was hoping to use it to resolve any future network issues that I may run into and hopefully have the ability to manage the system myself to a degree. I was told that HE is no longer supported by C4 and that I wouldn’t have been able to use it to manage the network anyways. Is this information true? -defunct-
HE is supported, ME is not. That being said, no, you cannot manage the network config from HE. loch

The new C4 Chime is one of those products.

While you're correct, you can set the Chime's network address to static or DHCP, etc., advanced HTML properties pages in drivers does not allow ComposerHE to change bindings, including network bindings, which most drivers including Chime use to identify the device on the network. RyanE correct drivers like sonos, heos, apple tv, ecobee, nest, and many more can let you chose the specific device to control. Still can't change inputs or other bindings that are for pro only, but many more drivers are making it easier for dealers, and customer alike to change many more settings than we have before. The OP was asking about 'managing the network', which I assume is mainly identifying things... My other point was mainly that the example you used, the Chime, doesn't let you do that...
