Help Wiring Door Strike to DS2

ccano4

Question

Hello guys,

I'm looking to install a fail secure door strike (it has only 2 wires, no polarity) and open it with a DS2 door station. Also I need to wire a liftmaster gate opener to an EA5 controller.
Can someone guide me on how to wire this?

If the DS2 is PoE - you'll need an exterior power supply, as I doubt the 10v on the DS2 OUT is sufficient for the door strike. That said, wiring is simple enough: if using the OUT1 (which is a controlled 12v or 10v relay output) you just wire there. Frankly I would advise an external output regardless of PoE or not, in which case you'd use the relay output - as it's fail secure, you would use NO from the positive of the powersupply, and COM to one lead on the doorstrike, and connect the other doorstrike lead direct to negative on the powersupply (NO is the one in the drawing you posted with an open lead)

Assuming you want basic ability to open, simply wire + on exit (where the "Access Control Device" is on the image) to NO and - to COM - I know this is inverse from the drawing, but the + to COM there is to power your access device via a grounded connection, for regular relays it's preferable to 'disconnect' the positive and leave the negative connected. If you have a (wired) standard control device connected, that should be fine, just run them parallel.
