C buslink control4 integration

Tesla369

Question

Hi

I have taken over a site which is running clipsal c bus for lighting with a clipsal pc rs232 interphase. There is a control4 controller hc300 that if I understand correctly was running composer 1.8 or older that unfortunately is no longer working.

The client wanted us to upgrade to a control4 ea3 controller composer 3.2.3. Ea3 is up and running. The last thing on the list is the lights.

If I understand correctly there is a driver from extravegetables/clipsal that is a free rs232 driver for the interphase between c4 and clipsal. Then I also need to have a driver from clipsal cbus powertools witch is also a free driver.

The free rs 232 interphase driver is connected to serial 1 of the ea3 controller on composer. The clipsal cbus powertools driver then gets connected to the free rs 232 driver

Now the driver works very simple. You get a link included in the cbus powertools driver with a web address and your mac address of the c4 controller. You change the password under that driver and then copy, paste the link in to web browser. From there you can import a xml or cgl file from your cbus toolkit saved files as long as they are in the right format.

Untill this step all has been fine. Now when I import the xml or cgl file I can see lights etc being imported and the a message saying import successful but when I go to the status page there are no devices. Also no devices to provision after successful import.

Kindly assist

Kind regards
