JOJ
Hello. After replacing my Spectrum modem/router yesterday, I became unable to control the volume on any of my Control 4 zones using the IOS app. I am able to turn zones on and off, and switch inputs, with the IOS app, but I cannot adjust or mute the volume. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
South Africa C4 user
You may have had IP address reservations on your old router which have not been carried over to your new router and thus you have lost control of some equipment. Just an hypothesis.
JOJ
How would I resolve that problem? I have tried all the usual "fixes" (uninstalled and reinstalled the app and the Control4 system; rebooted the Control4 controller and app; rebooted the amplifier/receiver, etc.). South Africa C4 user
You are probably going to need to involve a dealer. When changing one’s router, one really has 2 choices: 1. Involve a dealer; or, 2. make sure that all IP ranges and DHCP reservations etc. are the same on the new router as they were on the old router. I suspect it is too late for option 2 now? JOJ
That's unfortunate. Thank you for the response.
Kyle Coolabode
Changing network equipment will pretty much always result in issues with C4. If you had static reservations on the old router, your devices won't work unless they are either network reset (preferable) or factory reset (not preferable). You can only network reset on controllers. If you login to your current router, can you see all your devices on the client list that are supposed to be there? My guess is some are missing. JOJ
Thank you. Unfortunately, that is beyond my technical capabilities. I'm going to have to have my dealer handle it. Matt Lowe
