I do knock them for, arguably, being hostile to the end-user and I encourage people to vote with their $$$ and buy other garage door openers that are more end-user friendly. The issue at hand with C4 is it's the path that Amazon sets forth for package deliveries. They've locked themselves into a nice little niche. Since my client wants to be able to use Amazon Key and still have the door integrated, we will move forward with the parallel install. No, there are many MyQ integrations besides Amazon. Jeff W
I wanted to follow up from our earlier post. I've attached a couple of pictures of the way we do it. We will always try to run the garage door opener wires back to the processor whenever possible. If not, we locate the Z2io/secondary processor in a secure location. The Lift master 893 Max does almost every garage door open lift master makes. We can then run a garage rail door sensor to either the main processor or the secondary processor to monitor if the door is open/close. In the pictures below, we've tied the doors into the alarm system so we can monitor the doors through there. @RyanE I'd figured you'd appreciate the details. smginn
RyanE
Good stuff. My openers were old enough (21 years now) that I could just wire to the screw terminals, but same idea. RyanE
RAV
Would be great to get a driver for this guy.... It's WiFi, 3 doors, with contact output and sensor inputs. $50 + a couple sensors. (You'd still need an adapter for security doors.) More often than not, we have better WiFi coverage to a garage than zigbee. And other than adding a MyQ interface, it's all in one box, one power supply.https://www.meross.com/Detail/68/Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener There's a Github here with a libraryhttps://github.com/albertogeniola/MerossIot
