dipskhatri
I recently got a new laptop with windows 11 pro, I downloaded the latest Home Composer via control4 website from my account. The installation was fine no issues, but when I try to open up the software nothing happens. It starts like it is trying to do somethign then it just goes away, I even checked task manager to see if it is running in the background, nothing. Can anyone help? Kyle Coolabode
I know this is basic as hell, but have you tried re-installing?

I think he means if you're using the insider builds (which are effectively Beta updates)

SpencerT
Have you tried to install / run as administrator?
Andrew luecke
Check Composer logs.. It might say why.. Also, try running from command prompt, which might show an error or something
Andrew luecke
@dipskhatri I just had a thought.. Is your computer running an ARM CPU instead of Intel (many Surface products are actually ARM)

dipskhatri
This might help ( I hope), when installing, I do click 'Yes'.
dipskhatri
I assume no one has any idea on how to resolve this issue?
Cyknight
Try uninstall, make sure all install folders are deleted afterwards. Then reboot, re-download and install. In and of itself, the software runs on win11 (yes I use pro) just fine.

fleon
I am also having the same problem. This is nuts.
hnf3
I've been having the same problem since March 31. I think it started with a Windows 11 update that occurred around then, and I think it is related to .NET (whatever that is). Dealer put in a ticket with C4 and they told him "Composer is not designed for Windows 11, however it will be fully compatible in the near future. A big software update has recently been announced and I'm told it should likely roll out around the end of May (it's currently in beta-testing). Maybe that will also include Windows 11 compatibility??"

416to305
Not sure about HE, but I run Composer Pro on my Windows 11 ARM system and it runs great, I haven't had any issues at all and have been running it for months. From what I understand, HE is just a crippled version of Pro, so shouldn't be any different. Not sure if it matters but I have a M1 Max Apple Silicon running Windows 11 ARM on Parallels. .NET is basically a programming language or set of libraries, similar to how apps used to need Java etc, it's basically a dependency for it to run. Check to ensure you have the latest version and do all Windows updates etc as well. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/on-windows-
