Thank you for the offer. The way the controller quit had me puzzled. I had changed the power supply ( one that I had modified with the original connector) in use for over a year, with the power supply I got with the purchase of the backup HC800. I screwed up in my haste and plugged in to the non battery outlet of UPS and had a power interruption that kicked off the controller and only the power light would stay on, no LINK. This was the very symptom of the original failure of first power supply. Tried reconnecting my previous modified unit and same outcome. Both power supplies indicate 19V. Was able to find a tip that fits the controller and ordered a power supply from Amazon that fits directly into the barrel end of the tip. Controller went through its boot up and I had a link. Now this all done is there a way for me to add my other HC800 to my system for backup purpose or does that just complicate matters. Thanks

Thanks Systems can only have 1 primary controller at a time, so it isn't possible to have a failover controller. If the primary fails, intervention will still be required. If high availability is a requirement, you need to switch your primary controller to a CA10 (and subscribe to 4sight).
prabeau
Thank you for info. Just an old fart trying to keep things working, past the stage of chasing new equipment. Retirement will do that.
