lebron2k21
I have had an installer that IMO was good with the physical bits as in wiring, C4 screens, wall mounting TVs, lighting installations etc. But when it came to the actual programming I feel that its not complete. Right now I do not feel the system is working as it should. I have been trying to call the installer for a few months now without any luck. Can I get someone else to look at it or does this system now have a password/lock done by the existing installer? Can I get it finished by someone else and then if this installer ever comes back, I can give him access again to my setup?
Andrew luecke
Installers can't lock down the Control4 project to themselves on modern installs (its designed so other installers can take over). Where abouts are you based? You can use the dealer locator too: https://www.control4.com/dealer_locator?dealerlocator . Make sure you're prepared with what hardware you have installed (in particular lighting and such), because different lighting systems are best targeted by different installers (for instance, I'm great at lighting products like Control4 Lighting, Kasta, Shelly, CBUS, etc. But, I wouldn't be a great choice for Legrand or Lutron probably, as others have more experience with those)

If by 'modern' you mean since version 1.2 then sure. It was always possible to 'unlock' a project, though it meant access to the house (or a handy enough owner to walk him/her through the process) as it required a button pres/power cycle combo. But yes, you can use any other dealer, local or remote, you're not locked into a dealer.
