Wilma Parker
Edit: NEW PHOTOS Preface: You are more than welcome to email me at wilmaparker739@gmail.com with any questions as I know very-very little about this Control4 Media Controller. I thought I would post it for sale here to your audiophile community since you know what it is, what it does, and it's value. The information you might want to know - This Control4 Media Controller was installed NEW in during a recent home make over television show in our home. We have no want or need for this piece of expensive and complicated audio gear, thus it was unhooked and removed within a few day of initial installation. It was only powered-up a few times before it was unhooked and removed. It has no original box, no remote control, no power cord, no owners manual, and no accessories that I know of. Sorry, the kids or the wife have no idea where these items are. Bottom line, what you see in the photo is what I would like to sell. If you are interested in telling me it’s used retail value or buying this Control4 Media Controller, please contact me at wilmaparker739@gmail.com or post here accordingly. Thank you kindly, Bob Parker
jberger
Wilma/Bob, You will have better luck if you take pictures of the front of the unit, with the machine powered up and working. These units have been discontinued for quite a while, so age and working condition will be the biggest influence on the resale price.
Wilma Parker
jberger - Thank you kindly for the information. I’ll look again for the power cord, but I would say it’s long gone with the owners manual, remote, and the other items one might need or want. If I find can find it, I will post a photo as you requested. These units have been discontinued for quite a whileThat might explain why the piece was donated, complementary. Not sure? So everyone knows, it did power-up and work before it was unhooked and removed. Not sure what fancy things it did or does, but it powered-up and worked. Any idea on what the used retail value is or should be? Could it possibly be worth a few hundred dollars? More? Less? Any educational information is greatly appreciated. ILoveC4
If you want to sell it buy a power cord, and verify it works. These bring a few hundred bucks on eBay sometimes. It just takes a standard power cord like you use with your PC. This came out of your house? The story you gave doesn't make a tin of sense. Wilma Parker
This came out of your house?Yes. Someone submitted our families name to a nationally televised home makeover show, and we were picked for the show. Hopefully this is clarified better. I edited my first posting to reflect this as well. Thank you kindly, Bob Parker
ILoveC4
Didn't you notice that when you took this out some things quit working?
Wilma Parker
This came out of your house? The story you gave doesn't make a tin of sense.Didn't you notice that when you took this out some things quit working?Your open directional and highly suggestive skepticism is very understandable, all thing considered in the world we live in. Everything installed from the home make over television show continues to work just fine. Everything consists of a Sony receiver, a Sony Play Station, Klipsch speakers, and a overhead projection television of some kind. I’m not sure I know the brand name on the overhead projection television. I simply hooked up the Sony receiver to the Klipsch speakers. It wasn’t that complicated, even for me. As we do not use the overhead projection television either, I will be removing and selling this item when I get time. The Sony Play Station went to the original television in the living room. Understandably, the majority of your community probably thinks this Control4 Media Controller is stolen. I knew that would probably be the normal skeptical thought going into my posting as I am not part of your community. Again, it’s the world we live in and I understand that perspective, yet not everyone in this world is a crook or a thief. On a side note. If any of you ever get selected for a reality home makeover show, just say no thank you and move on. It’s a never ending emotional rollercoaster at the time, and the ending home improvement tax bill is incredibly outrageous. That said, I do THANK YOU for your help, consideration, and input. jberger
Wilma/Bob, There is currently a trade-in program for these devices that offers $100 off the cost of a new, up to date version. So I'd say it is probably worth around $100 just for the trade in credit. The issue is that most of these older units need a replacement hard drive or power supply due to age, so someone who is looking for one of these will want to know if it's working or what has failed. Without that info, it's hard to give a better idea of value, except for someone who would be trading it in for the $100 credit. Hope that helps. Thank you kindly, Bob ParkerMr. ParkerI have seen the heartbreak that these home make over television show inflict on families. It is unfortunate that you have been another victim of the promise of hope that these shows try to provide. I am sure the community of people on this forum feel the heartbreak of your pain, especially during the holiday season. The unit you are describing is hardware that is at least 4 or 5 years old. I just did a search on ebay and found a similar unit on sale for about $175.00 so this might be a baseline for you to shoot for.

Thank you kindly, Bob ParkerBob, I am not coming out and saying I thought you stole it, I was just seeking a little clarification. I think if you get a power cord for the unit and throw it on eBay, you should get between $150 and $300, but probably closer to $150.I apologize about the hardship you're going through. I never thought about the tax bill that goes along with the "Extreme Home Makeover". I am also sure that things you care about end up getting discarded, and all sorts of other difficult things to deal with.Hopefully you can find a way to have emotional piece, at through the holidays. Wilma Parker
henniae, thanks for the kind words. ILoveC4, no harm no foul. The wife found the power cord, and some other item. Looks like some type of dual inferred sensor with a very small headphone jack. Not a clue what this is or does. I thought I had this unit sold to one of you last night, but once I read my email today, more photos are asked for and suggested. I apologize about the bubble wrap as I took the unit to the packaging and shipping store today to be properly packaged and wasn’t about to totally remove their fine work. I didn’t see the email until I got home just now. I hope this helps you, help me. So my question is, now that everyone can see it “ON” – is it worth more? RyanE
Certainly more than not knowing.Just FYI, I suggest you close the little door to the right on the front and maybe tape it shut before you ship it, so it doesn't get damaged during shipping.RyanE
Wilma Parker
At 301 views, and a few hoops I’ve been asked to jump through - then add in the three “oh, I’ll buy it” emails, that now “changed their mind” ----- please, someone help me out here if you can?? If you live in the USA, is this a fair deal? $175.00 and I’ll cover the shipping costs? Any takers? Sorry, I’m just staring to get frustrated all over again when I thought I was done with the frustration of all of this. Sincerely said, I do THANK each and everyone of that are trying to help me. It is, very much appreciated. I had to un-package the unit to take the photos. Just FYI.
