Door Station Emails and Push notifications

Recommended Posts

I am hoping that someone can help me with 2 questions re the Door Station.

I have a DS2 at my holiday home and a DS2 mini at my main residence.

1. Gmail locked down their support for less secure apps (on 1 July) which broke the email notifications that I used to get from the DS2s via my gmail account.  Is there a way round this? I see that my IFTTT emails still work, so I would assume that C4 can / have created a new integration method?

2. When creating a push notification (via the push notification agent), it allows you to choose the DS2 snapshot (and has for a year or so) as an image to attach but when I try this, no image is sent.  Does anyone know if this is possible and do I need to change something to make this work? I should add that I know there is a cool third party driver which allows one to send images.  I use this (for my DS2 mini and other cameras) at my main residence and it is great.  If I can’t get the native integration to send a snapshot then I will do the same at my Beach House.

Thanks in advance!

You need to use Generic Image URL driver to include the image in the push notification. Details are in this thread. You just need to set the image URL to the DS2 jpeg URL.

Thanks! This is a great driver and what I use at my main house for this purpose.  My understanding is that the DS2 now allows for a snapshot photo to be sent without an extra driver (such as this) but while I can add the photo to the snapshot, nothing comes through when I push the message.  I will probably revert to the above.
