Opinions on Alexa Geofencing?

Does anybody use Alexa routines for geofencing?

I have an unused C4 wireless outlet lying around.  I was thinking about setting up an Alexa routine that switches outlets on or off depending on whether I'm at home or not.  Seems very simple to do in theory, but I wonder if anyone has experience or advice on how well this works in practice.

You don't need to switch on an actual outlet if you want to know.  There is a driver for a virtual light that works well.  This is what i do with Hombridge integration to determine if I'm home or not.  I monitor the fake light for on and off.  I have it set in homekit to turn that light on when I arrive and off when I leave.

Very cool!  What is the name of the virtual light driver?

If you have Kasa just get the Chowmain driver includes a virtual light your dealer can bind to any outlet. Very useful.

I actually don't have Kasa.

If we add a regular C4 light switch driver, but then just not bind it to any hardware, will that accomplish the same aim?
