samsong
Hi,I bought a 3 button keypad it wont detect in my dealers control4 software. My electrician hooked it up and we get a random set of lights come on for all 3 buttons. Then it goes dead. When addded in composer the detection wont happen when pressing 4 times on the top button. Anyone seen this happen before ? Maybe the keypad is no good ?
RyanE
This is a new keypad from Control4?What version is your system on?It's normal for a keypad to show some colors on boot up, and then change them all to green, or all off after starting up, although what exactly it does depends on which version of firmware it's running on.It's also possible that, although not very likely, it *is* defective, and your dealer will have to RMA the unit.RyanE
samsong
No its been purchased on ebay. It has been used but was working fine. I dont know what firmware it was used with My system is running 1.7.2.
RyanE
The important question is: was whoever you purchased it from running 1.8.0 or later? If so, the keypad has been updated to ZigBee Pro, and you will not be able to use it with your 1.7.2 system.RyanE
samsong
ok I just spoke with the seller and the 3 button keypad was running version 1.3.2.Does this mean I could possibly not get it to work on mine ?
CFUG
It possible could not but it wouldn't be due to the version issue
cyblog
If your system is on 1.7 and the keypad was on 1.3.2 you should be able to identify it into your system and then it should update itself to the newer firmware version. If it doesn't identify there could be an issue with the keypad. Also make sure that Zigbee is running on your controller.
