jevansoh
I'm thinking of purchasing a Sonos Roam tiny powered speaker to act as a digital doorbell for use when someone presses the doorbell button on my C4 Wifi Chime doorbell. I think a Sonos Roam speaker would be easiest for this, but I don't know how to send an announcement to a Sonos speaker. I currently have a Sonos Port and would like to test with that. How do I do this in Composer Pro? Thanks.

Here is a thread on how to send announcements to Sonos speakers: However, you might find that this device would give you an easier and potentially more reliable solution: https://www.axxind.com/product/plug-in-chime/
Matt Lowe
Sonos has a newer feature released that will do this natively with in sonos. If you have a sonos port you should just be able to use that as the doorbell. IF you have any distributed audio with control4 you should be able to play the announcement on those rooms as well. c44me

It’s in Sonos Driver, u can send Announcements from Programing, just get to Sonos main App, not player and u can push whatever you want to any Sonos Speaker. Check Documentation tap in Composer. I thought maybe something newer was coming out.

jevansoh
I ordered a Sonos Roam, which is a very small speaker (about 6" long and 2.5" wide and deep), and will be hiding it in the decorative cover of the old doorbell. It's supposed to be here today. I'll reply back when I have it working or if I have any issues. It's the perfect size for use as a doorbell.
