brucecampbell
I have found an ongoing problem where my internet drops off for a very short time. My ISP reports no faults on their service. Is there a way to determine if my switch or router are the cause? Noting I do not have other hardware to swap out in their place to run testing. Router: Asus RT-AC66U Switch: Level One GSW-1657 16 port gigabit switch Cheers.
Ryanjackson
Try running ping plotter on a computer and point to a website. Should tell you where the dropout is. Ryan

The switch is unmanaged. wont any errors show up as failing at my router? cheers.
Ryanjackson
Hey You are correct, i don't think i would pick up the unmanaged switch. Id plug into the router and test the ISP first. If you plug into the switch you should be able to ping the router IP in ping plotter. That would tell you if its the switch. *havent tried this but seems logical* Ryan brucecampbell
