akg4y
If you have more than one room can two HC-200s be used, or do you need to have one HC-300 in order for them to communicate? Someone I know is looking to do two rooms with TVs, receiver, etc and just two lights and maybe a thermostat. Is there any benefit to doing one HC-300 and one HC-200 other than the extra ports on the HC-300?
thecodeman
The HC200 can only be the master in a single controller project. If more than two controllers are needed, an HC300, 500, or 1000 must be the master controller and the 200s will all be slaves.
dgbrown
The 200 is for a single controller system or as a second + controller in a multi-controller env. It can not be the master controller in a multi-controller environment.
ILoveC4
An HC-200 cannot have a slave controller working "under" it. If you are going to have multiple controllers you will need an HC-300 to run director and control the "slaves".
ILoveC4
Wow...I started to type my reply, took a phone call and then finished. Apparently in that time two people beat me to it.
dgbrown
On the bright side, I guess there's certainly no question about the answer
