Brevanb
Does anyone have experience with this garage opener device: https://gotailwind.com/products/iq3-smart-garage-controller. I have a Liftmaster and need a simple-ish solution to get it integrated. Was considering the Garadget but wanted to sensors that were contact-based. LMK if anyone has any other ideas, trying to stay away from soldering relays or going through Home Assistant for a Ratgdo. Thanks!
chopedogg88
no experience with that device, sorry. I typically use a Z2IO - relay goes into a wired garadget (pre-soldered) button which then goes into motor. contact goes to wired magnetic contact sensor of your choice. slim42dog
Does using Z2IO get around Liftmaster's Yellow button nonsense? Supposedly it requires extra adapters for it to work. I've been contemplating adding meross to get my doors onto HomeKit, but would rather integrate into C4 if I can as I have a HomeKit driver in my project. Ideally I'd like to just be able to tell my dealer, here are the things I need lets make it work. When I ask them about garage door integration, they seem a bit puzzled. chopedogg88
Its pretty simple. You get a Z2IO, wire the relay port into the garadget button, and then the garadget button into the motor just like the myQ button that is already on your garage wall. https://www.garadget.com/product/security-2-0-dry-contact-adapter/ red/white wires go to the motor...other 2 wires go to the Z2IO. then you wire a magnetic door contact sensor into the contact port on the Z2IO. PM me if interested I can work with you on it, if you want to wire it up yourself its very easy, takes about 10 minutes...I can sell you a kit with the Z2IO, garadget, and program it remotely for you. slim42dog
Thanks.. I'll take a look and let you know. Are the notifications quicker and more responsive than MYQ? And I'm assuming I'd need 3 of each for 3 garage doors.

I went from MyQ to exactly what Ari is recommending and very glad I did. Ari supplied my Z2IO’s as well. I highly recommend taking him up on his offer - I think you will be very glad you did. slim42dog
Would you know if I integrated this into C4, can I pass this over to HomeKit? I have the Siri Voice Driver from Driver Central, and mostly everything passes over. Contemplating switching to the HomeConnect driver as it seems more straightforward and allows my Chime doorbells to be integrated.
chopedogg88
Yes this can be enabled in homekit via the HomeConnect driver, which works great. PM me if you need help getting that driver setup!
IBZICON
Bumping this back up, as I’m installing two Tailwinds for Genie 2024 openers, as I removed the former Card Access from my HC800 as I migrate to C4 Cores. Is the C4 driver the Instrinsic universal garage opener from this previous thread? I like the Tailwind as it can automatically open and close via GPS based on your phone’s location (iPhones require a iQ3 vehicle sensor for each car). BMW’s with iDrive 8.5 can be programmed to self park, so when I approach my driveway the garage door for the respective car will already be opened based on which car I’m driving and the car will take over then to self park based on the GPS location. Still need the C4 integration for when I’m out of town and need to remotely open the garage doors.
