Posted June 4, 20241 yr Have a site we are asked to takeover that is currently on OS2. Customer would like to move over to OS3 (controller is ea-3), system has about 50ish control4 lighting switches, dimmer, outlets total. Will those have to be relearned and programmed into OS3? or should things continue to function as they are now?
June 4, 20241 yr If the EA3 is director now, it's just software upgrading, and stopping at each major along the way. OS 2.91 -> OS 2.10.6 OS 2.10.6 -> OS3.0 OS 3.0 -> OS 3.13 OS 3.13 -> OS 3.33 OS 3.3 -> latest It gets messy going HC800 to Core, call tech support to review, there's special steps in the middle.
June 4, 20241 yr One other thing to keep in mind, is also ensure you're using the latest driver versions too. Some driver may require upgrades to work in 3.3.0 (or may not even have compatible drivers anymore in rare cases). OS3.3 and 3.4.2 in particular added a few major security changes
