JuiceLoose
My alarm company is giving me the option of DMP or Elk to upgrade my current alarm panel. Has anyone had experience integrating either of them? To me, DMP seems to be the better option as Elk seems to be outdated.
Cyknight
Been ages since I used Elk (just limited availability here) but they're rock solid. Can't speak on DMP, but looks like that's been around for quite some time too. General word of warning: ask the panell model details, as it's not BRANDS you integrate, but specific panels. Just because there are elk and dmp drivers doesn't guarantee there's a driver for the panel you're getting.
alanchow
We just released the Elk E27 driver for Control4. This is the latest Elk Security Panel which was just released. You can read up more about it via link below. One of the standout features is that it also acts as a Z-Wave hub for integrating certain Z-Wave device types into Control4. They burn batteries (due to two way communication) and they update firmware frequently which causes bugs. Awful hardware and awful management. Honeywell is 1970s technology like most alarm systems but is the best of the worst.
