jfh
I need to control two separate ceiling lights with C4 but won’t have a dual gang box - only a single. One will be a light and/or ceiling fan, the other two Phillips Hue lights. is there switch or dimmer/keypad dimmer that can independently control two loads? chopedogg88
No there isn't a Control4 device which fits in one gang and controls two loads. However Philips Hue Lights should really just remain powered at all times, and controlled through programming with the Hue driver. So you could probably just do a Keypad Dimmer which would control the one load, and use other button(s) on the keypad to execute programming to control the Hue lights via a Hue bridge. jfh
Agree that the Hue lights should just be powered all the time a controlled via Hub. Just don’t know how to get the builder to wire power to the ceiling without a switch. If an electrician can wire always on power from the fan box whether or not the fan is switched on then I’d be good
Andrew luecke
You could also look at using a puck, like the Shelly Plus/Gen3 products depending on the load type (if you need only relay or relay + dimming). Then you would simply need a conventional switch msgreenf

msgreenf
That is what Shelly does. Look it up

I guess I don’t understand how it allows control of a totally separate device from the fan. I know a lot of things but I’m totally clueless when it comes to electrical wiring and power. msgreenf
It's a pick that goes in the wall behind the switch and everything is wired into it
Time2Jet
I did. I guess I don’t understand how it allows control of a totally separate device from the fan. I know a lot of things but I’m totally clueless when it comes to electrical wiring and power. Think of a Shelly as the additional smart switch. It will independently power and control a device so long as it has line power and a connection to the load it controls. You’ll need a paid Shelly driver, but they are very inexpensive based on all they can do.
