Unifi protect AI face detection

I plan to use the new Unifi AI Port with my DoorBird door station, to enable face detection on the DoorBird camera.
 

When used with the Cindev Unifi Protect driver, will I be able to take different actions based on whose face is recognized by the DoorBird camera, or will I have to take the same action for all known faces that’s recognized?

Can the port be used as the only unifi device or is a full protect setup needed?

Full protect needed. (Which is only one cloud key for $250)

I don't know about the Cindev driver but I have the AI Port working with DoorBird now and it is awesome!!

Did you have to change any settings to get it to work? I was able to adopt the DoorBird into Protect, but the video feed was a black image. 
 

Do you know if you can trigger alarms in Protect based on one specific person’s face being detected, or does the alarm have to be when any known person’s face is detected?

You have to set up a dedicated user in DoorBird (with a user/password) and use that to set up the camera in Unifi. Otherwise it doesn’t work.

I’m not sure about the second question. I haven’t tried to set up that yet, but I can look.

On the latter question, you can mark someone as a person of interest after they are first detected and when they are detected it will alert you. You can also customize the alert (you can have it be a push, an email, or both, you can set a schedule).

I figured out the issue was with user permission in DoorBird. The setting "watch always" had to be enabled, otherwise it sends a video feed only for a few seconds after doorbell presses.

If I have two "person of interest"s (A and B), can I set up a different alert when person of interest A is detected and a different alert when person of interest B is detected? Or is my only option to set up the same alert for both person of interest A and person of interest B?

You can set different alerts per face. They have to get close enough to see their face though - it doesn’t do body shape.

I don’t use doorbird, but I also added an AI Port to my system to add face detection to Unifi Protect o some existing (non-Unifi) cameras.  From inside Unifi Protect, you can create triggers based on specific faces or specific license plates (or faces / plate “of interest”— which could be set of authorized users if you don’t need person or car specific actions).  I use these events to send a WebHooks request to IFTTT and then (in IFTTT) send a Pushover event to Control4 via Chowmain IFTTT driver.  Then do C4 programming based off that.  I use this to unlock doors on known faces and open car gates and garage doors based on known license plates.  A bit kludgy and cloud dependent, but works for me.

I'm guessing the C4 protect driver doesn't have the port configured yet?
