I use a Sonos port to stream music through the whole house.  Every time I try to listen to that source (in any room) Sonos mutes itself.  I can't think of anything that I've done recently except possibly updating to Sonos 104.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

After checking the programming, four of the six rooms will mute Sonos upon selecting Sonos as the audio source in that room.

"Set Sonos as the audio source in room Office, Bedroom, Outdoor, Main Rooms or Gym" is executed, Sonos will become muted.  The Garage and the Cabana work.

In all rooms, "Send command Play to <that room> is also programmed but I haven't noticed a difference where that part is disabled or not.

Programming looks the same in all rooms.

This has been working like this for as long as I can remember. Am I missing something?

Swapped the Sonos Port for another one and the problem went away.

So much for me listening to Sonos Tech Support telling me that the problem was coming from my side.

Time will tell.  Thanks all - hope you're enjoying the holiday season. 🙏

Well, I spoke too soon.  Sonos Port 1 started exhibiting the behavior again.  Port 2, no issues.  I'm only plugging one Port at a time to test.

Sonos tech support said it was a known issue and that Control4 would roll out a new driver in the coming weeks.

I'm sticking with Port 2

I am having the same issue the past week with my zone player. No programming has been changed and I’m on S1 that I thought had no more updates, now I see there is a new item added to the volume settings “pass thru”. This wasn’t there before.

its been working for 8 years and boom, an update from Sonos broke it. Annoying af.

Gen 1 Sonos Connect on S1

When I turn on in our bathroom, it turns on muted (though my legacy C4 app doesn't show it as muted...only the Sonos S1 app shows that it's muted)

When I turn on in our study / office, it turns on un-muted (like it's supposed to)

Took me forever to figure out that the Connect being muted was the issue since I rarely open the Sonos app and was controlling the audio via the C4 app (which, again, doesn't show the audio as being muted)
