Clone7 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Hi everyone, I’m working with a Control4 system and Araknis equipment, and I’m not sure if this is the right section to post in, but I’m asking here because no one else seems to know much about Araknis products. My Control4 system is set up to connect to these access points, and my installer has tried troubleshooting the issue multiple times but hasn’t been able to find a solution. I’m hoping someone here might have some ideas! Here’s the situation: I have two networks in my house. One Wi-Fi network is directly from my Rogers modem (in the basement), and it works perfectly fine—even under heavy download loads, there are no crashes. However, because the modem’s Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the entire house, my installer added two Araknis access points (details below) in different parts of the house. This is where I’m having issues. When I try a heavy Wi-Fi download through one of these access points, it starts off at a good speed. But after about 15 seconds, the access points completely crash. They go offline for about 15–20 seconds before reconnecting. During this time, I lose access to anything connected to these access points, including the Control4 software, which makes the issue even more frustrating. This problem doesn’t happen with wired connections. If I connect my PlayStation or computer via Ethernet through the Araknis switch, everything works perfectly, even with large downloads. My installer has tried troubleshooting multiple times, but we haven’t been able to figure out the root of the issue. Has anyone experienced something like this, or does anyone have suggestions for troubleshooting? Here’s my system setup: Router: Araknis Networks® 310-Series Dual-WAN Gigabit VPN Router (AN-310-RT-4L2W) Access Points: 2x Araknis Networks® 510 Series Indoor Wireless Access Points (AN-510-AP-I-AC) 1 in the basement 1 on the 2nd floor Switch: Araknis Networks® 210 Series Websmart Gigabit Switch with Partial PoE+ (AN-210-SW-R-8-POE) I’d appreciate any advice or ideas you can offer. Please let me know if you need more details about the setup. Thanks in advance for your help! If this post is not appropriate, please let me know and I can delete it. Quote
macosr Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Have the network cables been checked to ensure that they are good running to the APs? What is the length of the cables and are they the proper type of cables for the run length especially if they are being used as POE? It is a very odd issue. Quote
Popolou Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Suspect power/PSU issues. Are they powered via PoE or 12v DC? Quote
