So I have 15 Control4 audio zones.  I have had this system for 11 years with many upgrades along the way.  I now have a Core 3 Controller. Most of those zones/rooms have a 5 button keypads.  I have one button listed as "Pandora".

I set up this button to play Sonos once pressed (see below).  This way all rooms are playing the same music when the "Pandora" button is pressed.  Most of the time, Sonos would have a Pandora station loaded that it would start playing. Occasionally Sonos Connect does not have a Pandora station queued and I have to open the Sonos S1 App and select a station (this was a rare occurrence which did not bother me). This has been working for me for 11 years.  I believe my 11 year old Sonos Connect is going out.  It just started muting the Sonos Connect when I press "Pandora" in any room or if I add additional rooms via the Control4 app.  I then have to open the Sonos S1 app (the Connect is too old to use the S2 app ) to unmute the Sonos Connect.  This is now happening 100% of the time.  Before I upgrade to the latest Sonos Port to see if this fixes the issue, I want to see if anyone knows if there is a better option such as:

  1. Bluesound Node since they have a driver for Control4 (OS3) (see attached driver manual)?
  2. WiiM Pro - there are several driver options:
    1. https://faq.wiimhome.com/en/support/solutions/articles/72000635262-integrating-wiim-devices-with-control4
    2. https://drivercentral.io/platforms/control4-drivers/wiim-audio-streamer-with-multizone-support/
  3. Upgrade to Sonos Port (and pray I don't have the muting issue) - I do get 30% off from an upgrade promotion they have going on.

The built in Control4 Pandora option does not allow me to add rooms to an existing station. The only option I see is to play a specific station for that room.  If there is a workaround on this, I am all ears.  Any help or advice on this would be much appreciated. Below is what I have set up for the current Sonos Connect that was working ok for 11 years until lately:

You should be able to just use the Room Control driver and sync sources between rooms from whatever source room and target room you like.

Yes. It can be programmed to add the room to a session. Grab a consultant.

This is a know issue w the latest Sonos update

Sorry, Mitch, what is the known Sonos issue exactly?  Is it that calling a Sonos favorite from C4 to a Sonos Connect or Port mutes the Sonos device?  Or am I missing the point?  Thanks

So I went with the Bluesound Node (2021 model).  It works great.  My Control4 programer and I finally figured it out.  We set up the following command for a triple tap and Alexa voice command.  I only use the triple tap if no music is playing on any other zone.  This loads the preset station to play.

Alexa voice command - I had to use the word "Jams" because any other music word plays music on the Alexa speaker.

If there is already a zone playing the Bluesound NODE, I just use the single tap to add any other zones to the same music playing on the NODE.

I would love to hear how someone would do this with the built in Pandora.
