EagleMoon
Not really a Control4 issue but I'm hoping someone here can explain or solve this for me.My Sony receiver has an HDMI A and HDMI B output. This would be a great solution for my little problem of how to use a TV in a second room for the very occasional times I'd want to do that and it saves the cost and complexity of an HDMI matrix switch or even a separate splitter. When watching the TV, I'd like to have the audio sent over the HDMI to the TV in the other room. The receiver menu has an option where I can select either "AMP" or "AMP + TV" for HDMI Audio. Setting it to "AMP + TV" works great for getting audio from the TV speakers. It also plays through the theater speakers so I just need to mute the amp so that the theater speakers aren't playing. However, when I turn off the TV and switch back to the projector on HDMI A, the receiver doesn't play the audio through the theater speakers. I've always got to go back into the receiver GUI and set HDMI Audio back to "AMP" to get it working without the TV on. (And no, I didn't leave it muted. )Does anyone know if that's just an HDMI annoyance, a Sony bug, or if I'm missing something in the configuration?Edit: To clarify, the theater is a projector without audio capabilities. It seems that if the "TV" in "AMP + TV" can't support audio then the entire audio stream is blocked even though the "AMP" could support it. thecodeman
Yeah, I couldnt find a clean and reliable way to do this for another customer, so we just hooked sources to an hdmi matrix, then ran the out 1 from the matrix into an input on the amp, which connected the hdmi out to the projector, and out 2 to the television. And what did you do about the C4 GUI, just use it on theater via component into the amp?
