dotdcd Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 talking about making drivers... when i make a driver and test it (ir driver) it doesn't work what could it be the problem??? the ir receiver is on HC 300 where the led of link and power are, right??. Another problem when i make the driver and add to the projecto, it doesnt appear on my user interface, am i losing something between making the driver and addin to my project??thanks
ILoveC4 Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 What version ase you running? Have you setup the bindings?
dotdcd Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 comproser version is 2.0.6 and the hc 300 i dont remember it...
dotdcd Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 the bidings are the ir port im using for sendings the codes tight?? i dont know a lot of C4... if that so, im doing it... if i dont create inputs or outputs to my drivers could that be the problem??
dannyboy Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 ^ I reckon that could be one problem. Then you need connections between the inputs and outputs.Isn't there a good help file with CP, that's how I learnt.

Also, it is important that your Composer version and Director versions match. If you have Composer 2.0.6, you should use that only to connect to systems running 2.0.x.
dotdcd Posted July 20, 2011 Author Posted July 20, 2011 mmmm my driver now appears on my ipad, but my ir codes don't work... thats a big trouble cuz i've make them like 3 times... y blast the code to the ir receiver on my hc 300 but it doesn't work... i've lot of questions i don't know what to do men
ILoveC4 Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Well, start by making sure the IR bud is correctly installed on whatever you're trying to control...that's a common mistake.
dannyboy Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I hold my ir buds near the devices I'm trying to control, moving them around till I get a reliable position. Then I glue down.If this doesn't work....I've had a problem with one noname cheap DVD Player, but no problem with about 10 other ir drivers/ devices. maybe try another driver/ device to test you are creating correctly.
dotdcd Posted July 22, 2011 Author Posted July 22, 2011 i ¡ve created like 4 drivers, for diferent devices like bluray samsung, sky +hd, various projectors and the dont work, i had problems with the inputs, now thats solved the codes i create are sent but the devices dont respond...
ILoveC4 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 My bet is you're not putting the IR bud in the correct location. IR drivers are pretty straight forward.
dotdcd Posted July 22, 2011 Author Posted July 22, 2011 ilovec4 you could be right but when i create a driver the ir bud stays all time on, it sends the ir codes but the device doesnt respond
ILoveC4 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 The IR bud stays on all the time? That shouldn't be happening. The only time mine stay on for a prolonged period is during a reboot, and they stay on about 10 seconds or so. Have you tried rebooting the controller? Have you made sure that you have the IR bud correctly bound (software wise) to the device you're trying to control?
dotdcd Posted July 22, 2011 Author Posted July 22, 2011 thanks for all your answers, you helped me a lot... i have solved my ir problems hahaha. The mistake was when we were doing the driver, on the first step there is an options (on the device info) that allows you to control your device (ir or serial conection), on the ir option there are other two options turn off the ir signal and steady state signal at +5v instead of 0v (we were chosing both of them), if you chose the two of them, the ir bud stays on when we disabled these options, the ir driver we were making worked well... hahathanks
