General question...IR Code format?

Ok, I am trying to use a hex code I found on remotecentral.com for my STR-DE985 sony receiver. I want to use the Sleep function on the receiver and I do not have the original remote. Is there a certain format that the codes need to be in? the code I am trying to use is

0000 0067 0000 0010 0060 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018

and it doe snot work. when I look at other codes in the driver I have, they seem to be different than the ones listed on remote central which leads me to believe they are in a different format. Any thoughts?
