  1. TP-Link KL430 is my favorite. Can be purchased easily, installed easily (as its wifi) and integrates to our driver for local based IP control. Product - https://www.kasasmart.com/us/products/smart-lighting/kasa-smart-led-light-strip-kl430 Driver - https://www.chowmainsoft.com/tplink-control4

  2. Too bad C4 wasn't owned by MSFT or those of us who have been vaccinated would already have this capability thanks to Bill Gates - along with magnetism!

  4. Hey Antneed, I am being a smartass my brother.. I am not usually like that.. Hey PM your address and I am going to send you a free keypad dimmer. (probably open box slightly used) but a working excellent condition keypad dimmer.

  5. LOL Another one where the question is if it's worth the battery time loss vs function. The biggest point of hard buttons is that you don't have to see them. Not against it in principle, but it would have to be weighed accordingly. PS, I'm also not saying the battery life on the Neeo is a problem now - just don't want it to become one.

  11. You'll need to submit a helpdesk ticket for us to troubleshoot further with logs and probably remote access details to your system. https://www.chowmainsoft.com/support We don't have sleep mode implemented (or know how to do it). The API for lights only give us the details on how to set the value. As such you will have to do your own programming to do raising and lowering.

  12. The Amp108s had lots of issues as well. If you want to save money get a used c4-16amp3-b. It still works perfectly well - the main downside is no digital inputs. The Triad is a better option but will cost a few $k more. The Episode Response Amp also would work - it is a matrix amp.

    Server Room

It's slightly louder than loudest equipment in the rack barely perceived. But you need to put the silencer on it. Def moves about 4x ir more as much air as a simple bath fan.

    Dimmer issue

You have to go into composer and then into programing. These older c4 dimmers act weird when then are identified into a newer system. I am guessing that you are running a newer version of c4? if you are running 3.x then yes; after they are identified, then go to programing; on the upper left of composer you will see a box that says "device event". You will choose the 1st dimmer you added. You will then see below a drop down menu for button events. hit the drop down menu and choose the top, then below it choose pressed, released. single tap, double tap or triple tap. then on the right top side of composer you should see a box that says "Device Action". Choose the same dimmer and when you click on that dimmer to choose it you will see below it more options appeared. now choose for example under "the device name that you chose" actions: to be able to turn it on or off, or a certain level, ect.. So lets say you called it kitchen dimmer. Then under Device event you will choose that kitchen dimmer and now the box under Device event will say "Kitchen dimmer event". Same thing on the right side. When you choose the kitchen dimmer under the Device action box, then the box under device action will now say Kitchen dimmer action. If you have any problems or need more help, please don't hesitate to email me at my normal email Nick@wanerka.com I am a Control4 dealer but new to Control4. I have been certified in C4 for about 7 months now but have been doing automation for quite some time now. I started with all the "Homeowner" crap on the market, then stepped up to Clare home automation and then to URC Home automation (Just like C4) and also certified in all the Lutron lighting automations. Lutron Caseta, RA2 Select and Radio Ra 2. So I try to help others as it was very hard for me in the beginning to find other to help me. Just trying to give back and not charge for remote work like a lot of others are doing.

  19. I was looking for some help with my system when my local company couldn't help me. I saw this thread and contacted Coolabode. I was a little apprehensive giving access to my system to a company in another country whom I hadn't met. I have to say I have had a stellar experience. Not only did they respond quickly but they answered my questions without any problem and quickly remotely programmed everything I needed. I worked with Kyle and could not have asked for a better more knowledgable person. I am so glad I tried them and am already talking to them about a new project. I wish I would have heard about them earlier.

    85" TV

To be fair, some of the issues were fixed by PCosenza, who does a great job on TV drivers (and others, for sure). I haven't worked on the Sammy drivers in a while now. RyanE

    WTB: IRUSB x2

You know they have proper nvidia shield and amazon fire stick drivers now. If that's what your trying to control you can probably avoid the IRUSB's

  23. I am currently testing a chime and noticed there are three different streams all of which can be set with different resolutions. Is there a possibility to have the on screen display pickup a stream set to a lower resolution and then the phone/tablet/touch panels pick up a higher resolution?

    WTB: IRUSB x2

There aren't a lot of things in this industry that you can buy for $39 a piece plus tax and shipping, and IRUSBs aren't usually found second-hand, because they aren't terribly mainstream. RyanE

  27. True, but it's no worse than most better TVs from 3 years ago. So do other current TVs have better viewing angles - absolutely. Is that really a huge concern in the situation you're describing - not likely.

  28. a few things, versabox is fine, but any flushmount box would work. i have a samsung frame, for the money, i do not think it was worth it, its a clean look, i never use the art mode. one thing you should consider is that the samsung frame (atleast the one i have) is a one connect single cable device, which means you need a giant box connected to the tv, this cable is not wall rated, so you need to hide that giant one connect box behind the tv, and it DOES NOT fit in a standard versabox, snapav have released an extra large versabox specifically to fit this device in it (i do not have this, and endeed up cutting a giant hole in my box) hope this helps

  29. I couldn't purchase it directly from the govee website but managed to buy it through amazon. Bought sockets, bulbs (color + non color), led strips (normal + immersion) with expedited shipping. Once it arrives give us 6 weeks of development time so i assume we'll have a driver by mid August.

  31. something they could do on there end? Build a v2 api endpoint and give your partners time to migrate to it before you deprecate v1....novel idea, right?

  32. On a quick search, it looks like Govee is at least on IFTTT. So if you have your LG C1 on IP control so that C4 knows power state, you could use the IFTTT driver and have C4 send on/off commands via IFTTT to your light strip based on the power state of the TV.

  34. Some people (I am not saying antneed) may just not realize the super convenience of having engraved keypad buttons. Its up to the dealer to demonstrate this and is the reason why in NJ and NY, a real showroom in a commercial building is a requirement to be a dealer

  38. If you want it to do keypad functions then just swap it out for a keypad. Then you can engrave the buttons.

  39. Yes. I had @Matt Loweprogram a few switches to turn on ceiling speakers or outside speakers and tune to a specific audio source and channel with a double tap. Some other switches are programmed to turn all lights in the house off or all lights on with a triple tap.

  43. YES YES YES!!! This is actually probably the most important thing. I can't believe I forgot to mention that. Above all that is my biggest gripe about the current neeo. My girlfriend wont even use it and still uses the sr-260 mainly becuase of the lack of back lighting.

    Josh Ai

I understand Josh is close to adding additional C4 native streaming services Also, the way I do it is I have 1 sonos port on the matrix. So when I want to use josh to play music, it will use the sonos. If I want to play c4 streaming music I will go to a touch panel or my phone and play tidal or whatever.

    85" TV

The differences in quality between these two TV's are going to be miniscule, it will be more about what brand you like better or what styling you like better. Personally I still prefer Sony over Samsung and have far less issues with things like IP control on the Sony vs Samsung. Right now it will also come down to which TV you can actually find, both have been on back order for months.

  48. At the time of my install there was only a serial driver. It has been nothing less than great and very responsive. All of my equipment is in the same rack so I haven’t thought about the idea of changing to the IP driver

    Generic Camera

I think they are technically the same thing. I use the Generic one. It used to work perfectly fine before 2.10.X. Now I only get Snapshot and MJPEG. camera_dw_ip_generic_fixed_with_h264.c4i camera_ip_compatibility_test.c4z
