  1. You can unpair on the Samsung TV by going to NETWORK, ADVANCED and DISABLE IP CONTROL. Then ENABLE IP CONTROL. Then pair again.
  2. There is also a driver called Universal Adaptor that you can use to connect Digital input from the Core and Analog output to the Response amp.
  3. Having the nav pad on the Touch sometimes operate the source, and other times operate the menu on the Halo screen. That’s what has been asked for, correct? I don’t believe these remotes have been marketed to be mixed and matched in a home. You sure could do that if you want. So I wouldn’t say that it’s a design flaw if this particular function operates differently on the two remotes. That’s like saying, “I love the way I can just throw stuff in the back of my pickup truck, but I hate the way I have to open the trunk lid in my car to accomplish the same thing! So inconsistent. Way to drop the ball, Chevy!” If that bothers you, just buy two pickup trucks…
  4. I can’t believe there are complaints about two different category of remotes operating in two different ways. These are two different remotes to give us two distinct different options. Does anyone realize how confusing it would be for the average user to have the navigation pad operate in two different ways? That would be a disaster…
  5. You guys rock. I did the firmware update when I first installed, but it must not have uploaded. I just updated and now working perfectly, thx!
  6. Hi Deport. Are you able to add names and code from the C4 app to the lock? I have a Yale Assure 2 with the solid red card working perfectly, except I get a fail trying to add codes. Weirdly, it will add the code with "User 1" as the name but won't let me rename...
  7. Awesome, thanks guys! How do I find the address to the C4 controllers media folder?
  8. Has anyone successfully programmed and announcement (doorbell chime WAV file) on a wireless Bluesound speaker? Seems possible in the driver, it has a PLAY ANNOUNCEMENT action in Prigramming, but documentation is vague.
  9. Control4 Vibrant lighting will do exactly what you need with fully integrated controls. DM me if you’d like me to help you get a design/quote.
  10. Check out the Modular DMF recessed lighting line which offers warm dim LED. These work perfectly with C4 or Lutron dimmers. There is plenty of range in the warm dim, but if you didn't like it, the same housings and trim rings will work with any of their modules with tons of options for fixed colors in different lumen levels. They can even be swapped out after installation. This video shows the curve... DM me if you need to order a sample. Control4 now also offers warm dim and tunable white linear tape light with very easy controls, called Vibrant.
  11. Yes. You can label each button in the Halo driver properties. Then use room level programming to execute an -activate lighting scene- command. If you want to have a single button turn on and off a lighting scene, you can program the button to toggle a variable, the program the lighting scene to -activate on if toggle is true- activate off is toggle is false-
  12. I agree with almost everything said here, from the dealer perspective. A very reasonable, balanced take on things. Your relationship with your dealer should be healthy for both parties. Dealers obviously need to make their jobs profitable. The good ones will select products that profitable but not way out of line. Often these products will have some features that are better/enhanced than similar non-supported online products. Such as OVRC, the dealer cloud management system, that comes with Araknis. This allows the dealer full access to every feature of the network remotely, making troubleshooting/servicing issues MUCH quicker/easier and therefore less costly in the long run. Not to mention, remote reboots, firmware updates, familiarity, total support from the manufacturer and guaranteed compatibility with the overall system (C4, etc). The Araknis warranty support is outstanding with advanced replacement. Often the dealer will have the same models in stock for emergency replacements. ALL of these value adds will likely be billable on a job where the dealer does not provide the network. Not good for the dealer or client. As far as speakers, the reason given for selecting Origin speakers is sketchy and a possible red flag, OR possibly just half assed. The dealer should be able to give you very specific reasons why they chose to support their product lines AND have lower and higher priced alternatives that are still high quality and profitable. A dealer should bring a TON of added value to a job, far and above the pricing of any individual equipment. Find a good one that will and that you are comfortable trusting. Ask for specific reasons on anything questionable. Definitely find a dealer who is smart, trustworthy and a good match for you even if you need to look elsewhere. But please realize that this is a very complex business and equipment selection and pricing is a complicated issue. DM me if you want a quick take of specifics ANM3910.
  13. That would be a dealer issue, not C4. C4 wouldn’t even know this end user is having an issue. Zero foul on their part. The dealer would always handle this type of issue. Sounds like the dealer did his job and took the remotes back for a refund, which is probably the only fair thing to do once the client gets so disgruntled. And, yes, C4 will absolutely want them back for testing.
  14. My 2cents. Yes outdoor TVs are expensive, but they are a luxury item with a ton of engineering and premium materials over commodity TVs. For that premium you get a much brighter panel and anti-reflective screen that is a pleasure to view no matter how sunny it is outside or what time of day. But the real reason is safety. Indoor TVs are all susceptible to shock hazard which can happen just by touching the case. You will also void all warranty. Can you buy several cheap TVs for the price of a single outdoor TV? Absolutely. You can also wear sweatpants to a business meeting instead of a nice suit…
  15. ClareVision NVRs and cams have been a great line for us. We plug the cams in when possible, but can easily connect cams over the network when we cannot get a wire back to the NVR. We have even had cams connected to an eero mesh network point when there was no way to get any wire back to any network point. These have all been totally stable. Clare works perfectly with Clare cams, of coarse, but also with Luma cams and should work with most ONVIF cams. And Chime Doorbell. In terms of price, an 8 channel Clare NVR will power 8 cams and doesn't cost to much more than a POE network switch. As a bonus, you can add up to 8 more networked cams to the NVR.

    Halo Wish List

Yes, I believe we all know that. I meant, the labels for these should change as you change to a different room with different functions. Currently, the labels only stay on what was programmed for the original room. IE- my family room fireplace button still shows when I switch to my bedroom, which has no fireplace...

    Halo Wish List

Enable find remote tone. It already beeps when it is docked, so there is a speaker. Custom functions should change when Room is switched. Disable confirmation screen on Room Off.
  18. EA3. Pakedge RK1 router with eero WiFi network in bridge mode.
  19. My battery report… Yesterday I started with the remote on full charge. It was off the charging cradle all day. The remote was used all day (minus about 2 cumulative hours) from 630am until 10pm. Lots of browsing YouTube, some streaming music browsing using the Halo screen, some lighting control. The Halo was at about 35% battery when I went to bed. I’m left it off the cradle all night. Today at 630am I was at 31%. Not bad at all. For reference, my iPhone 13 was also on full charge and was used sporadically all day. I ended up with 10% left by bedtime. I am quite pleased with the Halo battery and overall performance so far.
  20. Most any additions to C4 need some programming. Adding WiFi remotes to an existing system that is already programmed does not any programming, at least to do the basics. This allows C4 dealers to drop off/ship remotes straight through the job site and just about anyone will be able to add it in. This helps dealers and end users on a product that MANY will likely upgrade to. This is meant to be an upgrade, not an addition. And there will still be programming in the system needed to do more advanced functions like voice control. C4 is not a DIY system. It is for clients who aren’t able or don’t want to automate their own system, often providing more advanced features/quality.
  21. I spoke with Ray last week and setting up an account was very quick and easy. Ray was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. The products look well designed and solid with C4. I can’t wait to get my first batch of products to try out!
  22. I had this issue recently. C4 tech support applied some kind of firmware patch to the controller. It is a bug with the Core controllers.
  23. Try a hard reset. 9-4-9 tap on the top-bottom-top buttons along the right side.
