    Stuff for sale

Remotes and touch screen are on whatever the latest they can be on. My system is on 2.10 currently. The older stuff was removed from my system about 6 months to a year ago so I’m not sure what they are on. When I get a chance to check it out I can post more info here. Umm. I guess they can vary but they should all be on 2+ at least.

  4. They have conduit but it won’t work where I want audio. Hot market for the builder. We got the last home and they were only selling by appointment. The first phase is sold out in less than 2 months. I was lucky enough to be able to add an additional bathroom on the 2nd floor. I may try to get my own contractor in later. 5. The basement will be unfinished but the top 2 floors are not and that’s where I’ll be trying to pull wires after moving in. Builder won’t let me do anything prior to moving in. Their idea of automation is the Nest thermostat. Moving from 7000 sq ft down to 3500 sq ft. It’s gonna be interesting. No more maintenance. Probably more vacations
  6. Thanks! It’s an unfinished basement to start with so it may not be too bad potentially. I’ll be sure to take as many pics as possible in the pre-drywall walkthrough. I’ll be posting a lot of what I have currently up for sale for anyone who is interested. I’m not sure if anyone wants old stuff anymore though. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. So we are selling the big house and down sizing. It’s a little early but I believe this is the right time to get out of this home. We are going to a townhome and there aren’t many options for automation. Not even wiring for speakers around the house. I’ll try to pull wires after closing if possible. But I’m wondering if wireless options are possible/better. What are you guys using in such a scenario? Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Did you ever create an updated version? Although I'm several years out, I'll try this out. Thanks!
  9. Battery life is great. The somfy shade works well and the batteries last for a long time, I would say at least 6 months to a year. I have 1 somfy shade in the master bath. I literally don't have any shades or curtains anywhere else but in the bedrooms which are manageable manually. As far as the shades themselves are concerned, recently the cellular shades started stopping abruptly 1/4 of the way up. I changed all the batteries - 6 D-cells and the button in the remote - but it did not fix the issue. It probably needs to be re-calibrated.
  10. FYI - In Windows Vista and higher, you can simply use the Snipping Tool [start -> Programs -> Accessories]. You can also get to this by clicking on the Start button and typing "snipping", which will display "Snipping Tool" in the results in the Start menu. With this tool, you can drag an area on your screen that you want to copy and it simply opens in the utility when you stop dragging and let go of the mouse button. Save, copy, share, etc made easier. This works in a dual-monitor situation as well (although Alt-Print Screen will grab the active window regardless of which monitor). If you have the $$ to spend, SnagIt is probably a much better tool. 11. bballboy6 - Check your CEC (HDMI Control) settings.
  12. The audio toggling happens in my theater as well. I havent' been able to figure out why this is happening but I am going to rule out the Monoprice HDMI matrix in my case for now. I have a Yamaha receiver hooked up to a Mitsubishi DLP TV in my theater via the matrix switch. I have to confirm this with more testing but I noticed that if I turn on the receiver before the TV (the TV isn't hooked up to C4 yet), the audio (and video) toggling is more likely to occur. I also noticed that my receiver is actually the source of the toggling and the input setting on it (if I remember correctly) is constantly being changed. I'll post additional findings here soon.
  13. drmark - go ahead and try it out. Worst case, you lose a couple hundred dollars, or not even if you manage to sell it on eBay later. I've been using the monoprice matrix for over a year now and it is working flawlessly. I can't compare it to anything else because I have never had another matrix. the daisy chaining is probably difficult, however. but if you get the programming right, it should work. I haven't had the need to do this yet. I'm happy with 4 zones, although you may need more.
  14. I noticed that the serial driver for the monoprice switch does not power on/off the device. In case of a power loss, this is inconvenient and simply kills the whole system. Anyone have the serial codes for the power toggle or on/off. In case anyone is still wondering, I am using this switch for over a year now and without any problems (other than above, although that is simply a change to the driver). It seems Monoprice has a newer version of the switch (link in a post above). I'm waiting for a 6x6 or 8x8. AC
  15. Those are nice! I'll have to try them out. Not sure why I didn't get those in the first place.
