I am considering adding a security system for that ability to add a variety of contact and motion sensors and I have a couple of questions.
I am considering the DSC Neo or Qolsys IQ Panel 4, based on what I have read for recommendations to integrate with C4. It looks like they both use the PowerG wireless sensors and are supposed to be the "best" wireless sensor. One of the things I would like is to be able to monitor contacts in real time with minimal delay between the time a door opens for example, maybe lights turning on based on occupancy... and the time it takes for C4 acknowledges the change. I have August locks with the built in contacts and the delay is painful when trying to program off of the status.
I am a fan of wired when possible, but am not sure if that same thought should apply to alarm sensors. Is it worth the trouble to run wire or are the wireless solutions as reliable?
AT this time I don't plan on monitoring and am more interested in the ability to add sensors. Would one or the other be better suited for what I am interested in?
Thanks
