  1. The driver is Sony STR-DB840, though from memory some IR codes were edited to work with the actual device Sony STR-DB930 It's been working with no issues for about 6+ years. I've not had any updates to the system in quite a while too.
  2. So you think it is the app on the phone? I should have tried volume control on the remote as a debug.... First time I've ever seen it happen.
  3. I was unaware of this option, I'll have to look into it further. Thanks.
  4. I'm outside listening to the radio. I open the app on my iphone and hit volume up. Volume ramps up, and up, and up then silence. I go take a look at the receiver - the ir bud is still flashing, the amp is in 'protection mode' I turn the volume down manually using the dial. The ir bud is still flashing and the volume goes up again. Only once I do a 'room off' does it stop. I reboot the controller and test again. Volume up never stops.... I reboot the controller and get the project restored. Now it all works like normal again..... Except for my speakers, I think they have blown, I've not fully tested hem yet as they are outdoors and it has not stopped raining... Anyone ever experience this? And no, there is no extra programming to handle volume on this zone.
  5. Drivers need to be added by a dealer, if you are happy to get a dealer to add the driver for you then go ahead and request the driver msgreenf suggests, as this should be pretty useful for other stuff you want to do. If you just want a solution to try now without dealer input, then you want to use the room off command. This will ensure C4 knows the current status of each room. Avoid using the specific codes available for your equipment in the 'Commands' list, as you need C4 to follow the action you take so the room status is correct. ie: use 'Turn the Room Off' as opposed to send command 'Power_Off' to device XYZ 1. Create a Macro called 'AVOff' 2. Add commands to 'Turn Off room X' 3. trigger your macro from a button somewhere. - I have my macro run as part of a sequence when I ask Alexa to turn on security/I use my 'away' method at the door.
  6. Thanks for the info Don, I'll keep an eye out on the forums for any progress you or anyone has to report. I try to avoid at all costs now the process of disconnecting the skill and going through the discovery again... I'm not sure if it is fully resolved yet, but when I first bought my echo dots, they were not supported in New Zealand, so my Amazon account had to be linked to my USA postal address. When I changed the location of the dots so I could get weather and other local skills, I could no longer add the C4 skill. The hours lost figuring out what was going on was too frustrating to try again...
  7. Anyone else experiencing Alexa doing as she is asked, followed by "I am having trouble reaching null"? This happens all the time now when I ask her to turn on Netflix or other items from my watch list.
  8. I've got 10 hardwired PIR sensors throughout the house plus two outside. installed in 2010 and zero issues so far. I've never really thought about the lifespan of them, but expecting them to last 20+ years.
  9. Thanks, I will take a closer look at this.
  10. Can I have C4 send a command to Alexa to play a door bell noise? Looking at the options of integrating a Chime and would need some form of noise in the house, as I can't rely on phones, I don't want a touch screen, and My receiver takes too long to turn on to work as a door bell. Thanks
  11. No, the HC800's never lose power. But on a different topic... I have noticed my waterfall is on after power cuts, so that explains that. I'll have to look at changing the relay connection over to default it to off.
  12. The only methods to turn on these pool LEDs are: 1. Via the interface - ie: remote or C4 app using the dimmer control (via domaudeo's driver) 2. I have toggle switches in the pool area connected directly to the HC800 contact and program on change to toggle the LED's I'm assuming some sort of spike is occurring when I switch the RCD back, and it is impacting these contacts somehow??? But I'm no expert so need help figuring this out, especially if this is a major issue....
  13. No. My HC controllers, the Engineering Solutions DMX controller and all the PX decoders and their power supply are in a single rack. The rack is plugged into a single power point which is NOT on the circuit where the RCD is tripping. I'm quite confused as to how this is happening....
  14. I have an RCD tripping in my house's electrical board. When I restore the RCD, my pool LEDs turn on. The LED's are run through a DMX engine. My controllers and the DMX engine are not on the same circuit as this RCD, so power is never lost. The pool lights can also be turned on via a contact switch. Any thoughts on what is causing these LED's to come on?
  15. It probably is the unit itself failing, as they are pretty old - i've had one do that too a while back. But just to be sure, try it with the face plate removed, and also loosen the screws holding it to the wall. Sometimes if they are not perfectly square, the rocker motion is restricted.
  16. Automatically top up my pond when it drops below a certain level for too long. The pond is self made and has a pump running in a skimmer box, so the water level must remain above a certain level or risk running the pump dry.
  17. I've found it much more useful to use a variable and have that variable set by the scheduler. I use two; Is_Dark and Is_Late (both boolean) Is_Dark is true roughly between sunset and sunrise. Is_Late is true between 10pm and sunrise. Daily Schedule: I then trigger a macro to do a bunch of stuff when each of these events is run, but basically they set the variables to true and false based on time of day. I then use the variable in my event programming: It means I don't have to keep adding time conditions all over the place when programming. and my day/night moves with the seasons. The reason for the second 'late night' option is so hallway and bathroom lights come on much dimmer later at night vs the early part of the night.
  18. Yep - I followed the instructions on my iPhone and still could not figure it out. now I know, it's simple just getting to the 'full screen' of the song that is playing was the issue, I usually just have it display at the bottom of the app (Mainly due to not even knowing it expanded further....
  19. Thanks Rob21. That was much harder than it needed to be..... I could not see the forest of the trees. I had never made the 'now playing' full screen in the C4 app, I always had song, volume and prev/pause/next buttons showing on the bottom third of the screen. A simple touch of the cover art and I now see the screen you have posted. Magic.
  20. Sorry - I'm still confused. The only options I see are: Like Add to playlist Add to queue Share Go to radio View album View artist Song credits must be missing something here....?
  21. I'm trying to follow the instructions to add spotify presets to my C4 App. Can't find any 'add' button. Instructions say: 1. open spotify in app 2. Play song and select devices available 3. select 'my room' Adding Presets: press the add preset icon on your C4 system Where do I find the 'add preset' icon please?
  22. Does this driver work with Amcrest - ie: if I were to buy direct from Amazon instead of sourcing 'Dahua' here in NZ? Cheers.
  23. What does the C4 integration give you? I'm specifically looking for a couple of outdoor cameras which can send me screen shots of motion sensed ONLY when my alarm is armed. I have a DSC panel integrated, so if I can get camera which integrate, I can potentially do what I hope for??
  24. Volumes have always been an issue for me with Alexa. I have given up trying and just use the C4 remote or C4 app now. upon volume up/down on my receiver, the volume displays on the receiver without adjusting. The second click moves volume up/down a notch. So to get any sort of change I click up or down several times. If I ask Alexa to do it, she does a single pulse resulting in no change. I tried upping the pulse time on the receiver driver to help Alexa, but this became annoying when using the remote so quickly changed it back. I do have the epic driver, so I could use a specific command to move the volume up/down 5 notches at a time, but not sure how I'd make sure volume commands use the epic driver as opposed to the native C4 room command...? I'd probably have to name the epic command distinctly different, which would instantly make it less useful to use.
