I appreciate the response Ryan noting that. I will check with them, even though I already replaced it. When I complained on the forum many years ago about this, it must not have been a known issue at the time, because of the responses I remember you specifically saying that this wouldn't happen. Maybe you worded it differently, I actually tried to find the old thread before I posted this and I couldn't. I thought about trying headlight polishing kit, but I had plastic conditioning products that I used and this was the best I could do with them.

Besides all the mechanical and firmware issues with Yale locks, I'm not happy at all with durability. This is the one I finally replaced after putting up with the glitches for years (replacement Yale deadbolts were on backorder with Control4 for probably 3 months). This one had the dreaded issue where it would not register manual deadbolt changes, so it didn't know if it was locked or unlocked unless it was done programmatically. My house faces west, so it was getting hammered by the afternoon sun. Yes, it was about 10 years old, but it looked bad after only a couple of years. This was after I tried to polish the plastic a few months ago, it was much cloudier before I did that. The metal didn't fair well either. Does anybody have any good suggestions for something to regularly maintain these with to prevent this from happening again? I think car wax might work, but I need to use something that isn't abrasive at all.

I'd be surprised if the HC800 continues to get updates after these are available. But I have had my eye on the CA-10 for a while and I'm wondering now if there will be a replacement for that sooner than later.

RIght, but the original question was if it works in parallel with C4. I never could get a straight answer about that previously and put off buying MyQ. Now I'm glad I went ahead. Also, I'm not sure what the talk about the subscription fee is, I would expect the integration with Key would prevent any of that being forced in the future.

I've got the legacy CardAccess setup controlling my Garage Doors and put MyQ on one of the doors and it has been flawless. Amazon was not doing any Key Garage deliveries in my area when I first got it, even though they said it was supported for my address. Then all of a sudden it was available and I've had around 15 deliveries without a hitch. Highly recommended, install was easy and I got MyQ on sale for around $20.

Well, nobody gave a definite answer last year when I asked. Can't find the thread now. If it's common knowledge, ok, but thought it might help somebody. The bigger issue is after all that, Amazon won't let me do an in-garage delivery, and nobody so far in support can explain why it isn't an option.

So they moved my second favorite channel--Cinemagic--from satellite, to only in the app, to now Xtra (just recently). So no hope of ever getting this in native C4? Or can C4 request it since obviously they are an official partner somehow?

I had asked last year about MyQ co-existing with my existing CardAccess setup. I ended up lead to believe that they were not compatible. I'm here to verify that adding MyQ does not affect my CardAccess setup in the least. Both MyQ and CardAccess still detect the garage state, and now I can get my Amazon Key deliveries. I'll report back after I get my first delivery to verify nothing unexpected happens.

I just heard about Span yesterday. Very surprised this is the first thread here (unless I missed one) where this is mentioned. Definitely on my wishlist.

It's not a DIY system. Just by the nature of your questions, it's not going to be what you're looking for.

Good idea, I have been running the free version on some multimonitor PCs, but this seems like a good idea if I could dedicate a Pi to it.

Do you plan to support the new commands that are going to be offered on the new remote that is going to be available soon? Since this device seems to be in a perpetual beta state, ongoing support would be important. I mean, no offense to Jim, but it is utterly ridiculous we had PiP/PoP in the previous product, and were promised it would be available in the Radiance Pro. That was SIX YEARS ago.

I'm waiting on the specifics, but according to AVS Forum somebody is finally selling a 2-way driver for Lumagen Radiance Video Processors. Has anybody used it?

The RoomMe sensors are on sale right now, but no sign yet of a smaller version. I'm still waiting, as the way these work, it seems like you don't get a room exit until another beacon picks you up, so it is probably going to be pretty hard to pick only certain rooms to have a beacon in.

Normally numerous drivers are on sale for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I haven't seen any this year. Anybody seen anything?

MyQ is on sale right now on Amazon, which would be nice to have for Amazon Key and the like. But I assume at this point Control4 users should just steer clear, right?

Conversely (there is no right answer), I prefer a catch-all room called "Whole House" where I put the things like door locks and garage doors that I want to be able to see at a glance all at once.

Hard disagree--they should at the very least be grandfathering in existing users better than they are. I've spent many hours setting these applets up the past few years. Somehow, it says I have 73 that are not "free forever" even though most of these were created from templates I found on the site and from first reading of the vague differentiation they describe they should be "free forever". I guess only "published" applets created by developers are not considered custom, so that is basically nothing that is actually worth paying for anyway. I don't understand why it is fine to pull the rug out for most here. It's straight bait and switch. And even though this trend seems to be inevitable, every time it happens it should at least be criticized by the home automation community as a group and maybe something would change. Not to mention the ridiculously short amount of time from announcement to implementing their paywall. What's next? Maybe Google and Amazon will start charging a monthly fee just for voice control. At least in the IFTTT Reddit group there are people offering alternative options, we aren't even seeing that here. Sad.

They limit custom setup to like 3 different ones. Not enough for a family of 5 even for basics. That's why I'm asking here though, if I'm missing something, but I don't think I am. They already e-mailed and said I had more than 3 and would be deleting extra ones...

And truly unfortunate there is still no integrated solution for geofencing. Now I have to buy IFTTT and the driver? I buy the driver to work around stuff C4 should be offering by now...
