  1. Everybody around here uses Mitsubishi Mr. Slim units. I've finally got enough data to realize my Geo is not sized large enough even with zones after my addition, and my ductwork is a disaster. I have two zones I need to move to ductless. What are others experiences with IntesisBox? I'm guessing my guys around here won't know anything about them, so @C4Newbie's comment has me concerned. I don't want to go through another summer with outrageous bills, so I'm going to put this on the fast track.
  2. Is there a reason Axxess is missing? I mean the driver sounds great, but I'm not sure I want to spend the money unless its comprehensive. Is other support on the roadmap? Thanks.
  3. I thought everybody just used their phones instead of touchscreens anyway
  4. I thought Amazon pretty much locked down the voice control to their own devices, so the open source versions have to have a button pressed to receive input. This seems to get around that somehow...
  5. Your trial is appreciated, but this could actually drive a Black Friday or Super Bowl timeframe TV purchase for me, and a TV is something I want to avoid returning if possible
  6. Ok, so the list of supported TVs is pretty small, what is the chance that if an LG TV has WebOS 3.0, its supported?
  7. I'll be interested to hear how well it fits in where the door station was...I haven't checked measurements but looks similar.
  8. I think you should get a large batch of sample programming as part of a purchase like this, or when you purchase a system or Composer HE (right now it depends on your dealer more than anything). But yeah, if the loop isn't good then they ought to leave it to the experts. I wondered about that loop...
  9. Ought to see a LOT more of this, shouldn't have to dig here or wait for a C4 blog to reference it: http://nycesensors.com/support/control4-lighting-examples/
  10. If you happened to buy through this deal, supposedly you can request a 4.x key for free from Blue Iris support. I think the cutoff was Dec. 1 purchase. I will report back if I'm not successful.
  11. Glad I pulled the trigger on the $35 Blue Iris license now (still available through Foscam, check Slickdeals for details)! Kept thinking that I was saving up for SecuritySpy, a Mac, and cameras before...thanks DavidP!
  12. Thank you sir! For some reason most of the posts are fairly old on this topic or my searching terms aren't right. Getting exterior IP cameras going is the last big thing I need to do with C4 on my setup. I can get Blue Iris going now with my internal Panasonic cameras and move on to exterior later.
  13. Let me try to clarify further, my understanding is Control4 is getting better at supporting more and more cameras natively. A lot of the reason for Security Spy integration through Extra Vegetables was to increase the types of cameras that work with Control4. So that's not a big deal as much now right? Nothing against Security Spy, but you need a Mac and I don't have one. So it seems that Blue Iris gets me the archiving that Control4 "lacks" but it won't interfere with Control4 integration? Anything I'm missing? Any better solutions?
  14. That's basically what I'm asking. Is there a reason why Blue Iris would not be sufficient for archiving in a C4 environment, or do you want to go with something like SecuritySpy because of some reason you want that for C4 that makes Blue Iris less desirable?
  15. That doesn't do anything for proper and robust archiving unless I'm missing something? To be clear I'm already looking at cameras just fine on touchscreens, iOS, Android, etc through C4 integration.
  16. I just got Blue Iris on sale, and there is discussion here about it but not much. Anybody have any recent experiences to share? I want to integrate cameras as much as possible with C4, but the whole camera integration thing seems to be more for real time viewing. Is this correct thinking? Blue Iris would be more of a separate piece for archiving?
  17. He talks about the mesh of devices in play. And I have Sonos but I have no Sonos mesh. That's what I'm talking about.
  18. Problem with that article is that there are different levels of Sonos and he doesn't really cover that. No, I don't want Sonos Play 5's all over my house but I do want a ZonePlayer or two as an audio source with an EV driver to control it. I think now that you can see your Sonos favorites in the EV driver it is relatively foolproof.
  19. Yeah, these remote dealers are great but unfortunately many times you still need on-site visits to clean things up and that is where it gets dicey because it is hard to find a "rescue" dealer that will do truck rolls on an existing project.
  20. I only have the free version of Eragy. They have not added the hourly pricing through my utility so its use is pretty limited to me right now. I love the Enphase microinverters, had a 6.75kW array about a year now.
  21. I have an Enphase system, and eGauge. I don't think anybody has done anything with C4 and the API for Enphase. Have you looked at Eragy?
  22. They need a smarter transfer switch it sounds like. Look at the Generac Nexus. It will do smart load management and I think it would avoid the voltage fluctuation issues.
  23. Well, I was barking up the wrong tree. The actual masking is from ESI. Web page with driver here: http://elec-solutions.com/software/control4-rq-driver.html EDIT: I should say the masking controller is from ESI - Its an RQ bridge.
