  1. 5 years later and it is pretty impressive how the landscape has evolved! We are still alive! More people aware of HA and the business is thriving! Competition is always good!
  2. Hello, I have an Panasonic TV, a B&W Panorama 2 Soundbar, an HC250, a directv and a Apple TV. All the sources are connected to the Soundbar and from there to the TV. The issue that I am having is that when I select "watch > directv " the soundbar turn itselfs on more quickly than the rest. This causes a lack of sound coming through the soundbar. However, it I shut down the soundbar and power it up again, everything works. The Panorama is being controlled by RS-232 and has a power on delay option but it does not work (mine is set to 10 seconds). Any thoughts on how to fix this? Many thanks, Ant Gas.
  3. Time will tell as usual but I am willing to bet that there will be more opportunities for everyone in the field in the short and mid term...But it is easy to be wrong forecasting technology....
  4. Very diverse opinions here, leaning more towards "threat" rather "opportunity" .....interesting comments!
  5. I personally think this would translate in more opportunities for us in the short and maybe mid term. This kind of moves by Tech Giants would basically create more awareness among consumers, and most, will go to with the simpler ecosystem supplied by Apple and third parties for now, leaving some consumers looking for a more ample & robust solution like C4 ... C4 needs to improve fast because Apple is no small dog and they can catch up quickly. My 2 cents.
  6. Since Apple already announced Homekit, I decide to open a new post basically asking forum members to state their opinion on this. Threat or Opportunity? http://www.c4forums.com/topic/14890-apple-announces-homekit-threat-or-opportunity/
  7. Apple announced "Homekit" which is a common network protocol that will let users control their smart locks, lights, cameras, doors, thermostats, plugs, and switches from one app with secure pairing to ensure only your iOS device works. I think this would be great for the Home Automation industry because it will bring basic control to end users...so when they decide to step up, we could sell them Control4. What do you guys think? Threat or opportunity??

  9. AMX got acquired by HARMAN.....long live AMX !
  10. The good things is that FT has a spotty record forecasting Apple.... anyhow, we are just one week away for WWDC and things would be clarified by then..................let's hope hahaha
  11. Good afternoon, I have been installing Control4 for home use and it's perfect, however one of my clients is building a meeting room in his house. He wants to use control4 for the meeting room for some simple task such as turning on the Projector, lowering the screen, dimming the lights and closing the shades and blackouts for presentations purposes. In this room there is a Rotel RC-1580 preamplifier and a RB-1582 Stereo amplifier for playing back audio from his mac. (controlled from Control4), there is also a directive directly connected to the Projector (HDMI) and the audio goes directly to the PreAmplifier. However I want to configure the computer so it's visible in the Navigator. So when the client clicks "Mac" or "Presentation" button. Everything turns on and the projector switches to the VGA input. Is this possible? Is it a Custom button in the programming menu? Greetings, Sorry for the long explanation and my english since I live in latin america. Thanks
  12. Thank you, that fixed it! Best Regards
