I've officially given up on these remotes.  There doesn't seem to be any hope for them.  They only work well if you are always pulling them right from the charger but its a crap shoot outside of that.  I'm going back to the neeos as I find it way easier to pick it up and in one click everything turns on and I'm good to go.  With the halos it takes up to two actions to get to what you want and this is after you wait for the remote to wake up.  If they could fix the speed issues and offer a similar interface to the neeo I will switch back.

Yup I’m testing one and will wait for v2. Too many disconnects and lags and found a couple of times same issue as neeo re base not charging unless remote placed and re-placed perfectly.

    Control4 Director Version 3.3.0

    Navigator iOS App version: 324.6.0

Was working over the weekend no issues.

Control4 (remotes and Control4 iOS app) will control TVs, AVRs (volume, sources, etc), but none of the controls work on AppleTV (for play, pause, FF, REW, menu, home, etc).  The native iOS remote app will control AppleTV, so I know that the AppleTVs are on the network properly and are able to be controlled through iOS.

Already rebooted AppleTV and Control4 - still same issue.

Only thing I can even think of that was updated was Apple Home App asked to "Update the Home" (or something like that) just within the Apple Home app.

    Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Same issue here. Need to have dealer reinstall appletv ip driver to fix the issue caused by HomeKit upgrade. If you use IR the HomeKit upgrade shouldn’t have caused a problem but suspect you have ip control.

We are having the same issue with the charging. It is a shame because the remote itself is great.

Wow. Was hoping was just me. Amazing they botched a second time. When we had neeos there was so much grief from family and friends picking up the remote from charger and finding it dead. We rma’d a few just for that, then returned all of the neeos due to constant  disconnects and reboots. So I guess I really do have to wait for Halo v2 which will be 5 years prob. That said the 260 remotes are rock solid.

I did this and it has helped a good bit but they still have to be restarted every day or two. I am surprised this is still a problem. Anybody have any ideas of an ETA on the firmware date that should resolve this issue?

I’ve been testing one halo. Connections have gotten better but they’ve a ways to go. Plan to wait for v2 before upgrading my 260s. Family tried neeo (horrible, never stayed connected) and halo and begged me to keep the 260s. Family test is the best test. One other thing: sometimes the halo seems to not charge. Same issue as we had with several Neeos — doesn’t seem to make full contact w metal prongs. Anyone else have this issue w Halo touch?

as long as it is regular and frequent updates and assistance then I can see the value and not just a money grab.   something that they don't have a very good track record of doing compared to some other systems in this space.  How does assist compete with or compliment Parasol?  Or is this just a rebranding of Parasol?

I would hope it is much much better than Parasol. Parasol sucks. We had it for about 1.5 years. The didn’t notify us in timely manner as promised, couldn’t explain why, and all the techs could do is power cycle. I can do that myself. Amateur hour. And agree that this seems to be C4 saying “our products are sometimes not reliable so we’ll charge you to monitor and reboot when necessary.” Perhaps cynical on my part but remember I have experience with the joke that is Parasol.

Thanks for the quick replies.   I don't believe I had night mode on, as when I would reset the POE power during the middle of the night, the T4 would turn on and then show the clock through the rest of the night no issue.   When I reset the T4 today, I forgot about night mode.  Thx for reminding me about it, as I have it disabled now after reset.   I also had my dealer update me to 3.4.1 today with hopes that something in the software would be fixed.   I've always had the clock as screensaver run continuously on all my touchscreens.   so I really doubt I had it on night mode and no one in my family knows how to change that setting.  frustrating for sure.  If its a known issue with T4s I hope they don't give me an issue with an RMA if it gets to that point.

Yes they should run 24/7. I made that argument. If you want it to run 24/7 and you have issues w display they should replace. Again we had defective T4s even though we waited for “v 2” — for the fix after their initial run. Most recently we rma’d a T4 (“ v2”) which flickered when we used a picture of house as background. I sent them video and the dealer got them to replace. Definitely something going on w the T4s…

Sounds like you have night mode (think that is what it is called) enabled.  If so, you can disable this in the settings on the Touchscreen itself.

Yes prob night mode. If night mode is off then check w your dealer. We had display issues w T3, they replaced with T4 and there was issue w some those too (even after the “known issue” at launch was fixed), which they replaced. Evidently if you keep the displays on 24/7 there is known issue (even with latest version) — they claimed they are fixing with software. We use them as clock so this issue is annoying. Thus we turn them off for a few hours at night using night mode.

It’s only been a week, but so far I have to say that I now regret not upgrading to the CA-10 and Core5 when they first came out. Touchscreens, iPhone and iPad apps, cameras, commands are all almost instant. Being a long time user, I think the move from the HC1000 to the HC800 to the EA5 blinded my expectations because each move was a noticeable improvement. But now I’m getting instant reactions. Love it!

Y the CA10 is speedy! Instant response.

No suggestions here but have same issue on 2 of my Halo Touch units which happens about every 2-3 weeks.  Usually just have to do a restart but the most recent unit I did a factory reset and it pushed new firmware as well which is odd seeing that it was on the system for the past 4 months.

I had one touch. Laggy and connection not reliable. Will wait for v2 (don’t know if planned) which hopefully will have much better radios and battery life.

should be using both ports afaik. but yes it should get rma. i hardly rma any controllers at all for the record.

Sorry forgot to respond to one point. Don’t use both ports but if one is out then it goes back.

  11. We’ve had recent issue w CA-10. Couldn’t log in but after a day or two was able to log in. Happened again recently and got dealer involved. They couldn’t gain access either and they suspect the network card is dead and they plan to RMA the CA-10. It is still on 5 year warranty but wondering if there are any experiences like this with CA-10? We had C4 audio matrix fail and was power supply issue (which is big issue with their audio matrices). Just checking if there are production issues w CA10. Ty.

I just found out after having c4 for three years about Composer HE. I've asked my dealer to give me a subscription so I can manage some of my own settings etc. He is telling me that composer he is a nightmare and referred to it as a dumpster fire and instead gave me access to his Pro account which I thought was quite surprising. Is anybody else having issues with Composer HE? Can anyome find a reaaon why my dealer doesnt want to sign me up for it? I'm sick of having all sorts of"bugs" all the time and not knowing whether my issues are really being addressed or not. Hellllp!

I have composer HE and it is very good. I have programmed in the past which helps. It isn’t intuitive but once you get the hang of it it is quite handy.

interesting timing - I am in the same boat - Generac generator, my EA5/EA1 are on UPS, but my electrical panel isnt, and when we lose power it take ~5 seconds for the generator to kick on.  that is enough to mess with my dimmers.  I used to walk up to each one that was messed up, and use the toggle on the top to reboot them.  That is a pain as some are more recessed than others and I need to take off the faceplate, etc...

So I read your post, and that does resolve the issue.  What I noticed is my dimmers all said "reverse phase" and when I hit auto detect, it said detecting....and eventually said reverse phase again.  so its not as if it "lost" or "mixed up" the phases...

I’ve Generac generator too. Every time power goes out the multibutton keypads flash lights and need to be rebooted. V odd. And annoying as someone needs to be present to reboot them all.

A generator is a gas engine. It changes speed based on load, fuel, air quality etc, thus the output AC is going to be 'dirty', or fluctuate.
A simple appliance or incandescent bulb doesn't care. BUT, since the whole conservation era and devices using less power, more devices then ever DO care, smaller electronics power supplies can't store and smooth the power like the old days.

An inverter 'cleans' the power, doing a DC to AC conversion, to produce a more stable AC sinewave with less distortion and thus less fluctuations.
Which your modern electronics and lighting require since they use the sinewave cycle for timing amongst other things.

The short time between grid and generator coming online is the critical moment, when it all goes bad. (Or grid brownouts, where the voltage drops)

The lawyers for generators don't allow for simple indications of the type of output, and result in "electronics friendly" type marketing terms.

All of the above, also applies to UPS battery backups and their ability to provide electronics friendly output.

Ty. Where do I get whole house inverter generator?

Guardian is not an inverter generator.

Not knocking it, I have one as well, but I can assure you the power isn't "clean". What's behind it protecting those keypads?

Can you send a link to a whole house inverter generator? Will help me understand. We have whole house surge protector and our generator delivers alternative current so not sure what is being inverted. Thx.
