This is really the better solution. The Cinegration driver is much better than the houselogix one ever was (it's certainly not just a clone) - but the garadget unit is so friggin cheap I can't solder up one myself for the price....well for a paying client at least.

If you have a security+ 2.0 opener, have your dealer buy one of these
    https://www.garadget.com/product/security-2-0-dry-contact-adapter/
Hook it up to a C4 Z2IO along with a rail mount contact on your door. Program the contact and relay to the general garage door driver.
Now you have an official integration that doesn't rely on the internet or some unofficial connection to the MyQ service.

Why?  I prefer to wake up in the morning, grab a cup of coffee and get my stock advice from a random stranger on a technology forum.  Time to dial up my account and make some trades....

If actual, real, home automation was easy, there would be more than the 3 or 4 companies that do it at the volume and quality of Control4.

Bother to read before commenting. That's 10 cables for that price, and for all the love of UBQT around here, it is still not recommended and on the do not use list for a reason.

I for one am glad they’re taking the time to do it right. A year from now when they’re able to rapidly expand on top of the foundations they’re building now, we’ll all be feeling bight and shiny.

I guarantee it will be released sometime this century.

As someone who runs large public platform-as-a-Service software/product development operations —— the answer is yes. If what you come to market with doesn’t distinguish you or is even behind what everyone else is doing, then your product is a failure.

Definitely on the same page there. And I agree with #4 to a point - I think Control4 needs to be better than MeToo to remain relevant. But even MeToo (as long as it’s rock solid) is still a win.

I think you missed the point of my post. Let me try to clarify.
    1) I FULLY AGREE that this is a critical and important app for control4
    2) I am not saying the app shouldn't exist
    3) I am not defending the beta cycle
What I am trying to say that **if** the app doesn't integrate one API from iOS that doesn't make it complete failure in my mind.

same as @jragan, yes. it took c4 an inordinate amount of time to adjust their iOS app for the iphone X screen bounds, which in the end all they did was simply expand the canvas for their app, and didnt take advantage of it in any other way.
integrating callkit is simple, so yes, it will be a disappointment despite them not explicitly calling it out as a feature in their press release.

I'm not getting defensive, it's just that I was *AT* CEDIA, and know what Control4 was showing, and Intercom Anywhere was not a large portion of the things we were showing, and we were explicitly told to say there was no planned release date for Intercom Anywhere.  It was more along the lines of "Now that I've shown you all of the stuff you can get *today*, here's something we're working on".
Control4 probably shouldn't have announced it, and yes, it's taking longer than was hoped to deliver.
Here's your status update: Still in progress, it'll be released when it's ready.

Sorry for asking a basic question but you didn’t have you first tried replacing the GFCI receptacle? Older units get overly sensitive about faults and trip. A newer unit might not fault as frequently (or at all).

Absolutely.  MAC DHCP via the router, not static IPs via device.  If you ever need to switch networks or replace the device, it's much easier this way.

    1. when system is ARMED and weather is equal or greater than 78f, close all shades in house
    2. when system is armed, turn off all rooms and lights
    3. when system is in exit delay mode and front or back door is opened and then closed, lock the door.  I have a "goodbye" button by most doors so when that button is pushed, it also unlocks the door closest to it.

    4.  if system is armed at night and sensors detect motion, bathroom, kitchen and hall lights dim and then turn off after 5 min

    5.  when system is armed turn off touchscreens
    6. when system is armed turn off surveilance tv monitors (i have tvs that are dedicated for cameras)

    7. when system is in entry delay mode and door closes, then lock it.
